T Stands for Another Birthday Freebie

Although my foodie friend Sally was still sick, we headed to another birthday freebie at another restaurant.

Sally and I came here last year, too.  This was a horrible photo of the buck that sits in front of every one of these restaurants in the chain.

I decided to take a photo of the buck in the reflecting windows.

Although I never got all the antlers, at least the reflecting light was gone in this photo.

Yes, we returned to Twin Peaks, an odd place for two females to visit, but after all, FREE is FREE!!!

We visited on Friday, April 26.  You can see the offer expired on the 29th of April.  The nice thing about both Twin Peaks and Golden Corral, where Scott and I went on Sunday, April 28, is you have a couple of weeks to redeem your coupons and don't have to go on your exact birthday, like you do at Denny's (see last T Tuesday).

I almost got the char grilled salmon (see photo above), but decided on chicken and waffles like I had last year.  I asked the busty waitress to hold the black pepper and bacon and to place the gravy on the side.

While we waited for the waitress to return to take our orders, I took a photo of Sally and our water, too.  Mine with lemon, Sally's plain.

I almost forgot to take photos of our food.  I had already dragged most of the chicken to another plate, but returned it to take the photo.

When the waitress came by to ask how things were, I showed her my "sunny side up" eggs were well done.

Had I been paying for the meal, I would have sent those eggs back.  Seems Denny's knows how to cook eggs perfectly, but the chef at Twin Peaks needs a lesson in how to cook them.  They were definitely not runny like I like them.  Even the whites were too well done for me.

It's now time for you to share your own drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

I love the idea of free birthday meals, and wish it would catch on here. Looks like you two had a great meal, even if the eggs were not quite to your liking. I had an omelette for my evening meal today. Happy T Day, Valerie

Wow another freebie treat and I've said it before you are so lucky to get these meals. Good marketing on the restaurants behalf, maybe hoping for more visits from you during the year.
By the look of your eggs I think they must have been cooked on a very hot griddle, Like you I like my eggs runny.
Happy T day wishes, I hope you have a lovely day.

Free birthday meals sound like a good plan, especially when you have a few days to choose from. I like restaurants that put some thought into being a bit different with their decor. This counts :) I checked out the menu online and want the BLT. Now! lol It all looks delicious.

Happy T Day!

that's pretty awesome-free birthday meal-that's a bummer they did not prepare the eggs right-I like them best the way you like them too.
Happy T wishes

It looks good. But, I would have gotten the Chicken & Waffles. I am really hung up on those! But there is a lot of calories and they are pricey. I kind of wish they wouldn't tell us the calories! LOL Happy extended birthday!

Free birthday meals are the icing on the cake. Mmmm, chicken and waffles.

I love my egg yolks runny too, Elizabeth. Though I know "they" warn against eating them that way. Please tell Sally not to push herself so hard. You'll know what I mean when you read my T-party post today ;-)

Happy T-day! Eileen xx

I think it's a brilliant idea to have free birthday meals. I had not heard of those until I saw yours. I'm not aware of this being done in Europe. But it's good marketing as people who like it will come back and (hopefully) pay for a meal.
I'm sorry to hear the eggs were not to your liking. Like you, I like my eggs runny. Also I like my food to be recognizable. This to me does not look anything like chicken. There could be anything in that coating. But I'm sure it was lovely. (and free!)
Can you explain to me why this restaurant was an odd place for two women to go to. It looks perfectly decent to me....
It's bed-time for me (nearly 1 a.m.),
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Ι like my eggs runny too, Elisabeth. And water with lemon is a favorite drink. Have a great day, my friend.

I love chicken and waffles but I have never seen it with eggs. That's a brilliant idea. And I wonder, is Twin peaks a chain? We don't have any around here so I am not familiar with eating here, ut would order the chicken and waffles with eggs myself. I only had some toast for dinner tonight as the hubby is working late, and this is making me hungry. Happy T day Elizabeth. Hugs-Erika

well you sure do know how to take advantage of free meals:):) I would definitely have taken the salmon because I am very fussy about eggs and could never eat them like this, or runny either. Happy T day!

I like the photos of the stag. When I read “Twin Peaks” and saw the 2 mountains my mind went right to Jayne Mansfeld...yup mind in the Benny Hill gutter. I’m glad you saw your friend even though she wasn’t well and the food wasn’t the best but at least it was free.

Free meals are quite nice even though I would't eat chicken and eggs any more as you know...lol! I had a documentary yesterday from my YT Guru in German about Veganism and he had rheumatoid arthritis this time at his agenda and that so many studies tell about how fantastic a vegan diet specially for this desease helps so well and that people get even rid of this painful illness after a short time of a completely vegan diet - I thought of you!

I read on Johannas blog about the desaster you are going through just now!
Hope all is fixed already! You are such an angel to hep Sally again and this all with that rainwaterproblems ..... I wished I could send my hubby to you via beaming to help you with the problems!Sending my best thoughts in your direction dear friend!

Hope this T-Day ends happy for you my dear friend and you get all fixed soon!
Big hugs Susi

Love the idea of a free birthday meal Elizabeth.
The Twin Peaks name reminds me of the tv series from the 1990's.

It looks like a fun place to eat. It's unfortunate they overcooked your eggs. (I like them running, too, when they are sunny side up, which is how they should be.) Happy T-Day Elizabeth and Bleubeard!

Your birthday meal looks delicious! I love the idea of going from place to place on my birthday to get free meals but I would never be able to eat all that food. And that is great that your coupon didn't expire for a few weeks.
Looks like your meal was delicious. I think that eggs are a tricky thing to cook. I only ever cooked scrambled up until a few years ago. My hubby likes eggs the way you do and I always find it to be a struggle to get them the same way every time without over cooking them. Perhaps it would help if I timed them.

Happy Tea Day,
Kate

Hi Elizabeth-this is Erika (bioartgal) from my work email.I can't believe you flooded again. Sounds like between the rain and Kathy's hospitalization you're having a tough week. Thinking about you and keeping my fingers crossed the rain stops. Erika

Your meals look quite hearty! Eggs are so difficult to get just right as we all like them cooked differently! I have to cook Tony's longer no matter which way we have them! I hope Sally is OK and that your flooding problem gets solved quickly!Hugs,Chrisx

A great idea to give menus for birthdays Elizabeth !! It is a good advertising for the restaurant. It may have been a beautiful day, and this buck is original. I hope Sally is already better.
I wish you a very nice afternoon, and send big hugs.
