Bloom
I feel like I hit the trifecta today. It all began as a spread for Try it on Tuesday, where their latest theme is Inspired by a Word.
Then I realized this spread also fit Jo's (Let's Art Journal) theme Hello Springtime at Art Journal Journey and Moo-Mania and More's theme which is Close to Nature.
Although Try it on Tuesday wants us to tell our word of choice for this theme, I probably don't have to spell it out. I will anyway though, since rules are rules.
B*L*O*O*M!
For this page I began with a sheet of my handmade shaving cream paper as the background. To it, I added a lovely card I was gifted, glitter thread, corrugated cardboard, and some very old ticket shaped letter stickers. I built the background up using both the corrugated cardboard and old cracker boxes.
As an aside, Jo and I have been keeping track of words and phrases that are used for the same purpose, yet are different depending on if you are from the states or Europe. I use the term "shaving cream," yet I notice "shaving FOAM" is used by my fellow international visitors. I'm adding this to my long list of different sayings and words that mean the same in both places. I guess it's a foam, but it comes out creamy and foamy.
It was a delight to have you drop by today. Please also join me at Try it on Tuesday, Art Journal Journey, and Moo-Mania and More, too.

This is so pretty! What a beautiful page with the wonderful background, the clever layering and the wonderful image!
And your word is one of the best to choose!
Bloom - grow - how positive this is---- always good for the mind!
You propably can imagine how even much more difficult this with the different terms for British English and American, NZ, Austalian English is for me who I am a non English soul.
But I learn many terms and words specially from you as your English is such a "BLOOMING" one! Today I learnt the word TRIFECTA....
trifecta [Am.] [Aus.] [NZ] [three major achievements]sports
In German we say "Hattrick"
and this comes as it seems also from the English word
hat-trick...lol.
Languages are so wonderful interesting!!!!
Thank you for the hat-trick - trifecta - trifold
piece for Art Journal Journey, Try it on Tuesday and Moo Mania & More.
You really scored a Mixed Media hat-trick Elizabeth!
Happy, happy Day!
Nice! Hitting 3 challenges at one is always great. It's hard to do usually so hurrah you did it! I think spring flowers are always fun to see. Thanks for joining us at Try It On Tuesday and happy Thursday. Hugs-Erika
Gorgeous page, Elizabeth, and the shaving foam paper in the background is perfect. I love how you used the corrugated cardboard. Really inspiring. Kisses, my friend.
Fabulous page! I love the beautiful flower images with the pretty glitter thread and corrugated card 😁. "Bloom" is such a great word as inspiration too! Thanks so much for joining us at Try it on Tuesday and for sharing another wonderful spring page over at Art Journal Journey! Enjoy the rest of your week! J 😊 x
What a wonderful background. (I think I'd probably instinctively go with foam rather than cream, but might use both fairly interchangeably - it's not something I often talk about!) I love those sunshine flowers too, and the ticketed lettering is a lovely touch.

I love this. It's so bright and springy, unlike the day we are having today.
I particularly like the background on this piece Elizabeth; it reminds me of walking down a lane next to a fence !! ☺☺♥♥
Your lovely blooms are fitting for all 3! Sweet! It's so nice to see those flowers on such a gray, chilly day :)
Your page is so colorful. The way you cut the corrugated cardboard looks like a Pan flute. You can almost hear Pan coaxing the blooms from their winter slumber.
Pretty spring flowers Elizabeth. It looks like a canvas painting.
Wooow Elizabeth !! How gorgeous is your Art page !! Spectacular! I love love it, the background is cool and the flowers'card fantastique !! Love the glitter thread too and corrugated cardboard ... Well, I love all, your designs are fabulous always. Hope your day is warmer without snow.
I wish you a very nice Friday, and send your big hugs,
Caty
I love the word you chose to inspire this gorgeous page Elizabeth. The background using the foam looks amazing, it looks great how you layered the beautiful floral card as well.
Thank you for linking with us all at TioT's, it is an inspirational page for out theme.

Absolutely love those watercolor flowers. :)
Lovely piece, Elizabeth. And also intrigued by your discussion of Brit vs. American words. I've noticed that too and sometimes use both!
Wow this is just oh so beautiful, lovely the use of the colours and paints...x
Asking the oracle...Tony...it seems that the shaving cream he uses does foam up but he also on occasion uses shaving foam from an aerosol canister! That does not take anything away form this fabulous spread and the great linking of colours and materials! Thank you so much for this entry at Try It On Tuesday! Hugs, Chrisx
This is so lovely Elizabeth. I love all of the different textures and layers - the corrugated cardboard and bit of string really add to the page that would have still been lovely without them.
Wow, very pretty!
Wow, Elisabeth, this is awesome.
Thank you so much for joining us at MOO MANIA & MORE
You have me wondering now whether I call it foam or cream? Strange how my mind has blocked it out - both seem correct to me but i will have to see what the tin says LOL.
Not to worry as what it is called - I love the background you made. This is a project for me for the warmer weather as I like to do it outside or at least under cover of the garage but today is a bit too cold and blustery. The card with the flowers on is a most gorgeous watercolour of those big bright yellow flowers. I would say they were gerberas but i haven't really a clue. Not to worry, it makes for a lovely |Spring page.
Hugs, Neet xx
