Do you remember last year when I tried to visit this pumpkin patch and corn maze?
This was the scene last year, and it was also the scene this year until the final Sunday of the month. In fact, we were told the parking lot was unusable earlier in the day, but by the time my foodie friend Sally picked me up, the parking lot was in
Although I was shooting photos through a dirty window and a moving car,
I couldn't believe how beautiful the leaves were this year.
The trees never get these vibrant colors we normally only see in photos from the east coast.
I couldn't stop taking photos of these trees.
It wasn't long until we were at Bergmann's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch.
There was NO way to get any photos with no people in the shot this day. It was wall to wall people.
As much as I hoped for a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, I had to settle for a wooden trailer. You can see one like the one I was on in the photo directly above this one. Since I was wearing shorts, I didn't want to sit on potentially hot metal.
I'm so short, I had a hard time getting up on the tall trailer. I remember that a few years ago, when I was younger and not just out of my sick bed for the first time in well over a week, I could have jumped up on the cart like the kids did. Not so that day. I was already beginning to feel I should still be tucked in with my two motorboats (if you have a cat, you know what I mean).
Then we were off. You could see the mud tracks that had begun to dry.
We passed games for children,
then saw pumpkins peeking through the rows of corn.
I later learned this row of trees
was meant to hide part of the corn maze.
This image was snagged from Bergmann's web site and assured people it was the largest corn maze in the state.
People were waiting to be let into the corn maze.
This boy worked there and was collecting the paper tickets each person who would enter the corn maze must provide. You can see one person had his ready.
After everyone with tickets got off to wind their way through the corn maze (note the water and mud standing in the tracks),
the rest of us headed to the pumpkin patch.
To be honest, I'm not sure what I expected, but this certainly wasn't it! As I was writing this post, I noticed the bee hives in the distance (back right in the photo).
This image, also snagged from Bergmann's web site looks more like what I expected to see.
While the pumpkins were close to the road, the gourds were far in the field, close to the borders. I selected 10 of them.
All too soon, the experience was coming to a close, as we headed back
past the edges of the corn maze.
At least I got a photo of this machine that creates straight rows in a field. This time it was working in a very muddy field!
Although I got most of the beehives, I totally missed the tractor tire swings.
I managed to get a decent image of several inflatables
and portions of the trike track seen here
and here. Then it was time to go home. For a family, this would be a lot of fun, but rather expensive, since each attraction required a ticket to participate. The petting zoo, movies, and trailer ride to pick pumpkins were free activities, and admission was also free, which was a big draw for me, since most of the pumpkin farms had an admission fee, in addition to the cost of any pumpkins purchased.
I was actually glad to be heading home, since I felt I had overdone myself and was now quite weak. Note the red building in the background above. More on that another time.
We had to pass Bionic Burger on the way home,
so Sally wanted to stop in. Even though it was Sunday afternoon, the place was crowded.
Once we had ordered at the counter and seated ourselves, Sally pointed out the vignette
over the entrance.
I seem to be playing Sharon, who admitted she forgot to take photos of her drink last week. I forgot to show our water, then our sandwiches. Hers was a hamburger, mine a grilled cheese. Thankfully, all the signs on the walls had me covered. I see three drinks on this wall,
and at least two in this photo.
Sorry I was so long winded this week. I hope you enjoyed your trip to the pumpkin patch and trip past the corn maze. It's now time for you to share your own drink related post. Feel free to discuss anything. Your post may include photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink. Then, please link your story below. The photos don't have to be taken on Tuesday, and can relate to anything with a drink. Please use the direct link to your T post, not your blog in general, so we can find you easily.
This is Day 6 of Art Every Day Month (AEDM), and I hosted a link-up drink related party.

Looks like you had a fun time at the pumpkin patch and enjoyed a nice meal afterwards, although Sally is not looking very happy again! Happy T Day, Valerie
wow, the colorful trees... it seemed to be really dry there all around, it looks still quite summery. i never was in a corn maze... an interesting day really!
happy t-day!
A lovely collection of photos, the ones from the car window looked good as well.
The outing to the pumpkin patch seemed a very popular destination. I was also surprised at how dried out it looked and quite bare of greenery, even though there must have been some rain to cause all the muddy patches.
The restaurant looked interesting especially the vignette above the door.
Your grilled cheese sandwich sounds yummy, a favourite of mine.
Happy T day wishes.

The turning of the leaves is one thing I miss about living in the Northeast. You could really count on their beauty there every fall.
So you had a special treat this year - beautiful. I'm glad you got to the corn maze event this time and didn't venture into the maze. I would never. I think it would freak me out.
Happy T-day. Hugs Eileen
Your foliage pictures were beautiful. And the sky so blue! I wouldn't have expected a dirt field for a pumpkin patch. Maybe the vines were removed to make it easier to select a pumpkin. At 5 ft 2 (if I stood up real straight) I'd have a hard time getting on the trailer. No corn maze for me as I have a horrible sense of direction. After all that activity, Bionic Burger would hit the spot. Grilled cheese is comfort food, and I hope you felt better. Happy T Day. PS the description of your motorboats made me smile.
Yes, those colours are beautiful. Here the trees are starting to turn as well. Autumn has well and truly come.
I have never been to a pumpkin patch and I have never seen one, so I didn't know what to expect, but I still was a bit disappointed. It was all so barren. The corn in the maze was all withered and dried out and the pumpkin patch did not have any greenery on it either. I looks like they just dumped a trailer load of pumpkins and spread them out a bit.
But it ws a glorious day! I saw blue skies, and you were wearing shorts! Shorts in November. It must have been a warm day. I think the kids had fun too.
Haha, we all do that at times, forget to take a picture of the drink or the food! I know I have. As you say there were lots of images on the wall. I love those old adverts.
Oops, I don't know what a vignet is. The photo seems to show a indian looking cloth item. A handbag? or a tea cosy? The latter would be very appropriate for today's T-party.
I bought a tea cosy the other day. I will try and remember to show it next week. I keep forgetting.
Wishing you a happy T.-Day,
Hope you are taking it easy,
Lisca
The tree colours are lovely - we do seem to have been lucky this year! Our tram ride today showed beautiful colours by the track! A pumpkin farm sounds so much fun, I think we are getting a few here now too and we have had corn mazes for quite a while! It does look as though they are making some money from families! Looking forward to seeing the redhouse! Grilled cheese sandwich sounds good! Hugs, Chrisx
We too are experiencing somewhat drab grounds for pumpkin picking in the fields and just had another heavy, horrid rain day/night causing damage and flooding! Glad you were able to get some decent pics , especially of the beautiful colors of the changing leaves on the trees. Love seeing the bee hives. And glad you were able to sneak in the drink reference of your meal stop:) Happy T day!
Managed to grab my daughter's PC to do a few comments whilst away....sorry short n sweet comments as she needs it for work...
Great post and colours.xxx
It looks like a fun day out on the farm. Wow- it is really flat in Kansas, isn't it? I've always heard that but never haven't been there actually seeing how flat it is surprises me. Glad you got some gourds and had a good lunch. It looks like a perfect fall day. And I am waiting to see what the red barn signifies. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
Looks like a great day at the pumpkin place. We didn't get to one this year. Too much going on and then bad weather
So glad that you made it to the pumpkin patch this year. Looks like it was a beautiful fall day. And a burger sounds like the perfect way to end the day.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
That corn maze is huge!
Looks like a fun time at the restaurant, too.
Happy Tuesday. :)
I am so happy you shared your day at the pumpkin patch with us
Happy T
Kathy
I'm sorry, but once I saw the Bionic Hamburger, I lost sight of everything else in your post.(lol) Yay! This is clearly a spot made just for me! Glad you enjoyed your visits and HUGE Hugs...RO
That's an interesting day out. Glad you are seeing some colour in your trees!
Wonderful to see the photographs and all the pumpkins. You do find some great places to visit Elizabeth.
I was imagining being between two purring cats-a beautiful thought.
Have a very happy T Day
Love Chrissie xx
Oh this looks like so much fun and the trees were so beautiful! What a great day for you and Sally!
Happy T-Day my friend!
Hugs, Susi
I haven't been to a pumpkin patch in such a long time. This looks like loads of fun. Love the hay wagon--a great day out.
Never been to a pumpkin patch, but I also expected to see a lot more green around the pumpkins.
Love all the signs in the diner, a very interesting mix.
Hope you're feeling better Elizabeth :)
You captured such beautiful fall colours and the pumpkin patch looks a fun place to visit! I hope you are fully recovered now too 😀. You must have been ready for that yummy sounding grilled cheese sandwich if you forgot to take a photo of it ...lol 😉. Wow, I've had such a busy day so far today that it's nice to sit down and finally get to wish you a Happy T Day! J 😊 x
It looks like a fun day, but I can see how it could be tiring. The Autumn colors are _beautiful_!
... by the way I've been trying to link my page to AJJ but no Mister Linky, any ideas? Many thanks J 😊 x
What an interesting post, Elizabeth! So many photos, but what a letdown after the photos of what you'd been led to believe would be there! Bit of a damp squib :-) But you still managed to enjoy yourself and to see the positive side. Good for you!
Hope you're feeling much better now... you've obviously been doing too much! Be good and rest :-)

we had a farm market here that used to run similar events in the fall. BEST baked goods, veggies etc. sadly they closed a few years ago; it was family run. this looked like fun !!! :) ♥♥
great photos and i see you had fun..
Elizabeth, I love all your beautiful Fall photos. I haven been to a pumpkin patch in years! We used to go to the corn maize at night every year with our adult church group, but that has been a dozen years ago. That was fun to go through it with our flashlights, usually a foursome together. A lot of giggling, and ready to be out of it by the time we found our way! So you pulled a Sharon, did you? Happy Tea Day!
Wowwww the pumpkin patch is really fantastique dear Elizabeth!! It may has been a lovely day. Love the so beautiful photographs you have shared, wonderful trees, love them!. You are a great photographer!!
I´m so happy you are fine, and I wish you a very nice Friday.
Big hugs, Caty
