My trip to India

I'm once again joining Erika aka BioArtGal who is hosting Art Journal Journey this month with her theme Vintage or Modern.

In this entry, I have returned to the 1920s, where I traveled through India on my motorbike.

It was time to write a postcard to my favorite aunt who lives in Cairo.

This is the only art I brought home with me, although I plan to frame it and give it to my aunt.

For this page, born in my imagination, I began by spritzing some of my handmade shimmering mists on 110 lb cardstock and allowing them to run.  While the mists were drying, I colored the woman in red using water soluble crayons.  Then I colored the black and white palm trees and river with more water soluble crayons.  Even though it took a really long time, I was quite happy with how it turned out.  I've now added it to my large art journal.

Bleubeard and I are so happy you chose to join us today and hope to also see you at Art Journal Journey

For Day 17, I'm also joining Art Every Day Month (AEDM) with another art journal spread.

Wow! What an adventurer you are... this is stunning. Love the drips and dribbles - so evocative. I'm sure the ripples in your life from that journey would have been multiple and would've had an effect on a lot of your life. Beautiful art and a beautiful country. Amazing, Elisabeth.
