July complete and August already started in my never ending calendar
I'm still having trouble uploading photos to blogger, but I'm finally getting the hang of this html way of getting photos onto my blog. July was all about summer at Art Journal Journey, ICADs, and Squiggles' birthday. Then I threw in a few 4th of July celebration stickers, too!
Nothing lovely or colorful like July's page, but I'm ready to get back to a normal life. Thanks for joining me on this monthly calendar journey because this is the only place you will find my calendar pages each month. Not that they are that good, but I like remembering what I did each day if I should choose to look back over the past 6 1/2 years I've been keeping these calendars.
And since I have so many photos I took in July, I thought I might share the night I invited Scott and two of his friends to a small party in my back yard.
I cooked veggies in the chiminea. Don't you just love those fireproof gloves Scott gave me for my birthday several years ago? They come in handy at times like this. To the right of the gloves is an extra citronella candle when the one in the chiminea topper has burned out.
You can see we are just sitting down to the meal. We waited as long as we could for Scott's other friend, but I got worried the food would be overdone if we waited much longer.
Ah! Perfect. Carrots, new potatoes, corn, cherry tomatoes, and onions cooked in olive oil and seasonings. My friend wanted me to show a photo of what she called my "masterpiece."
It's probably a good thing we didn't wait because
the coals were nearly out by the time Scott's other friend arrived.
I was surprised how quickly the paint on the garage chipped away. I only painted it three years ago. After careful inspection around my home, this is the worst spot I've found.
Thanks for visiting today. I'm delighted you stopped by.

The sight of those parcels of veggies is making me drool, yummy! Nothing like fresh veggies, so good! Your calendar is looking good. I did the calendar challenge for 3 years but but never liked filling it in, so decided to stop....Well done for keeping it up this past month in spite of all you did for other challenges. Sorry you need to be painting again, that looks like a lot of work. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
The food parcels look amazing and I am sure they were enjoyed by all. I am always amazed at the way you keep up the filling in of your calendars. Mine hangs on the wall and gets forgotten about.
Love Chrissie xx
aww love weggies and great callender, in old days i did the same ;O))
You do this calendars so well - I will start it in 2018 - at least I decided it -lol. You always inspire me to start!
Oh how yummies this veggies look!
It is always something to do when one owns a house.
But it's just great to be in one's "own 4 walls" like we say in German.
Happy Thursday Elizabeth!
Enjoy August now without the hosting job at AJJ! You really overdid yourself my friend!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Cooking on a chimenea seems like it would be challenging. Your veggie parcels are so impressive, I love when a dish offers lots of color, making it not only pretty but healthy too!
I always have good intentions to start a calendar. A little behind for August, but you have inspired me.
I've never cooked in my chiminea. Those veggies look soooooo good. :) I think I may have to try it. And loving your July calendar. You really dressed it up this month for your summer love theme. :) Happy August. Wow- the third already. Tim is flying- too fast for me. Hugs-Erika
Oh my gosh, Elizabeth. Those veggies look wonderful. I swear my mouth is watering.
That's frustrating about your paint peeling already! That happened to us once. It's a pain.
Minus peeling paint, I hope your day is going well.
Hugs,
I always though of a chiminea just as a "fireplace" type of thing, never thought you could use it to cook, but it makes sense.
I'm glad I've got a brick house, so no need to paint outside, but there's always something to do inside or outside a house to keep it in order.
WOW! Your food looks delish!! :) Your July calendar was very full indeed!! Really great idea to keep track of it all too! I have a large desk top calendar next to my computer, but it's full of things I don't want reminders of like bills! LOL!! Thanks for sharing your lovely post!
Those veggies would make a feast! I've never tried cooking in my chiminea, but it does look like fun :)
It's disappointing when paint -which I think should last at least 5 years- doesn't hold up as well as I'd hoped :(
I am with the others who have called in tonight ad have said how delicious your veggie parcels looked. It must a have been a lovely night to sit an enjoy a meal with friends.
Your calendar pages looked great, I am still managing to keep mine up to date, I must take some more photos.
There is always work to do on our homes, you are not alone, we are dealing with a wasp nest at the moment I think I would prefer peeled paint.

Those veggies look to die for delicious! And I love your birdcage! Sounds like a grand time!
Camp fire cooking so much fun. Quick and easy clean up, too. I love your blue plates. I have a pair of Kevlar gloves I use in the kitchen. So much better than pot holders though not as cute looking. As always, I enjoy reading your calendar. You had a very busy month.
New month! Good food and good company. Latecomers miss out on a lot. ;)
You July calender pages looks jam packed with fun and I love that you surrounded it with Summertime Love too 😀. The food looks yummy and your evening looks such a lovely way to spend time with friends. Those gloves look fab and I'm loving seeing your birdcage, thank you! It looks so pretty in your yard and it's even nicer than the ones at the Blackbird Café 😁. Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊
Oh Elizabeth! You know that I love your calendars! I love the bits you add but also love how you don't ramble like I do AND I think the best thing is, by using different pens it looks so much more interesting! How I would have loved to have tried those veggies - masterpiece indeed!Hugs, Chrisx
