Craft Barn's latest letter is G

I've finally found time to share Craft Barn's latest alpha/dictionary entry which is the letter G.  I've had this ready since Sunday, but other posts were already scheduled.  I had trouble deciding on which word to choose.  So many words, so little time.  That's why I couldn't limit myself to only one word this time.

I'm all about time.  I even have an entire altered book relating to time.

I've made calendar art until I'm blue in the face, although I never included the G word before.

Nor did I think to include the definition of Gregorian calendar, so I made up for it on this page.   Ironically, the day after I finished this spread, I was given an entire box of old calendars.  I mean OLD.  Some from the late 1960s all the way to 1980.  Wish I'd waited a day to finish this page.  Looks like I'll be working on another altered book.  Maybe I'll call it Gregorian calendar art!

This is a very simple page and I wanted to include it because I've had this Geronimo tag for several years and finally found a way to incorporate it in my art.

The American Heritage Dictionary I am using was a bit too brief for my taste.  And Geronimo looks really mean in this picture in the dictionary.

Although I scanned and printed the back side in black (I have no colored ink at the moment), I thought you might be more interested in seeing the full color piece I scanned before I glued it to the page.  This certainly makes Geronimo look far more favorable than we (in the U.S.) learned about him in school.

EDIT: Since many had never heard of the National Museum of the American Indian, I should add that it is part of the Smithsonian Institution system.  It is located on the National Mall in Washington D.C.  As with all Smithsonian museums, admission is always free.

I want to thank everyone for your lovely comments and visit for the last challenge.  Once again, I visited everyone except one person who didn't have a blog.  I can only leave comments on blogs, but I did have a chance to see the lovely art.  And of course, I appreciate you visiting this time, too!

I love both of your pages! I would never have thought of connecting time with the letter G, so I am super impressed with your first page and the fabulous elements you have used! I loved reading about Geronimo - just imagining a whole museum about American Indians - I would love that! Have a great day! Chrisx

Two wonderful word choices. The Gregorian calendar is inspired. I love the coloured image of Geronimo - his face has been so brilliantly captured and looks like it has some stories to tell. Thank you as ever for your kind comments on my Geisha entry.

Gregorian calendar is a great word choice. Makes for a really fun collage. And lucky you to get a box of calendars. Can't wait to see some of your projects-maybe a whole altered book? That would be fun to make. I like the Geronimo choice too. I think our old history books were so unfair to anyone who wasn't white that it is good to see things giving the other side of the story. Do you know where that museum of the American Indian is located? I've never heard of that. Have a great day and enjoy! Hugs-Erika

Oh, calendar art! I'm eating it up! I love calendars. Every year I have a hard time choosing which calendar to purchase for my main calendar. I use all the free gift ones in all kinds of places around the house. But my real favorite is my journaling calendar. Look what you got me started on! LoL. Wonderful words you chose and your art and page creations are really great!

I really enjoyed reading your post about these pages. The Gregorian calendar was a splendid idea, totally excellent choice for a "G" word. Geronimo is looking rather magnificent isn't he. Lovely work and lots to think about.

When my children were young I would often say to them as we were about to go out " Let's go, Geronimo". I have no idea where I picked up the expression nor did I know who Geronimo was. After all these years I finally have the answer!

A great choice of words and lovely collages to illustrate them.
