January 2016 complete and February waiting in the wings

Once again, I have created a very simple calendar beginning with January, 2016.  I enjoy looking back over what I've done in years past, even though my calendars have gotten less colorful and far more simple over time.

Some of you may remember I spilled black ink on the page before I ever had a chance to write on it at the beginning of the month.  With the help of a few stickers and a bit of creative drawing, I managed to cover up most of the problem.

The temperatures were up and down this month, with many days of ice and snow, but also many where the temps were well above freezing.  For those who like to read minutia (AKA my boring life), you can enlarge the calendar.

If the weather forecasters on various local TV networks can be believed, February will come in like a lamb then on Tuesday will become a roaring lion, producing wind, freezing rain, snow, and possibly ice.  Although the model keeps changing, putting me closer to the rain area than the wintry mix (which I prefer), if their predictions are true, I bet the groundhog at our zoo won't see his shadow this year. The weather looks a whole lot better for Punxsutawney Phil in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, an eastern state in the USA, where Groundhog Day is celebrated every February 2.

Thanks for stopping by.  This is the only place you will see my calendar, because I am not on Flickr or Facebook where many people share their beautiful and artistic calendars.  I suspect they wouldn't miss mine, anyway, since I've never seemed to be able to make mine artistic.  As always, I'll decorate the page as soon as I know what is important in February.

i think it is artistic -- i like it. What are those coffee cups in February? Coffee dates? Cappuccino? Where exactly DO you live anyway? Wish you could come over to my studio and I could show you how I gelli print!

I love your calendar because it looks so real and fun and used, which is the whole purpose of it. Have a good start in the new month, hope the weather will be kind to you, hugs, Valerie

Well Elizabeth, I love seeing your calendars! I was looking back through my previous calendars and saw that I used to add little pictures. I think that's what I like most about yours! I can't believe how long I have been doing mine and find them useful for reminders of when we had special events! Hugs, Chrisx

Well boo to February's lionlike behavior. It was 50 here yesterday and nice for the rest of the week, I suspect we will see your weather towards the end. It had to happen right? Hubby got me a beautiful owl wall calendar for Christmas. I like being able to see what's coming up just by looking at it. I suspect you too since you always come up with a fun calendar to work from. Sometimes simple is just darn good. xox

Your January calendar came out great. The ink spot disappeared quite nicely. I can't believe it is February. We're lamb like here- 50's today, but a basically warm week ahead. I am ready not to see snow at all now-it has felt so much like March I am ready for it to be March. But of course now that I think that we'll be getting a big snow storm-that's how it works, right? Hope you get more rain than ice or snow, and Happy February! Hugs.
