As promised, these are the index cards I created for this week. To remind you, I am not following any prompts this year, but will make everything based on my desire to not use any glue on these ICADs. There will be sewing, stamping, stapling, and spray mists, using scraps.
I began the week with a mask and a pun. My stamping isn't exactly getting that much better, but I'm more knowledgeable about and comfortable with masks, the more I use them.
Some of you saw my tribute to Flag Day on Sunday. Here I fussy cut and stapled the image to the card I first sprayed with my handmade mist.
I found this picture in an old calendar, then l found a quote by Keats I thought might be appropriate. I used a bingo dauber to slightly darken the stark white quote. I sewed everything to the IC. It took longer to find an appropriate quote than I had hoped, especially since I hope to complete these each day in 30 minutes or less.
Although I wish I'd used a darker color for the image on the left, I was quite pleased with the new stamps I bought in a grab bag at my local craft and mixed media store (Mrs. O'Leary's) several months ago.
My stapled entry for this day was taken from a decorating magazine, where I fussy cut the chair. Please sit, if you'd like.
One final bit of leftover scrapbook paper from the Kings and Queens altered book I made earlier in the year was paired with an image of a stamp. Both were sewn to the IC.
I kept wanting to name this one, but nothing I thought of seemed appropriate. To make the hearts that I freehanded, I used a security envelope, leftover red copier paper, and a sprayed dictionary page left over from my WOYWW ATCs. Both were stapled over an IC that I sprayed with several handmade shimmering mists.
I want to remind you that I'm not on Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, Tumblr, Pinterest, or any other
social media site, so this is the only place you will see my ICADs. However, I appreciate your continued support of these fun little cards.

Hey, i think they are great. You are lucky to have stamps and stencils available and near to you. In Turkey, they are quite expensive and there are few to choose from. So i try to produce my own stamps and stencils. Much slower but it is fun. I really liked the "no glue" challenge. Been experimenting with the stapled collages since i saw it on Daisy Yellow. But i want to deal more with stitched collages, too.Your colored thread became a graphic element.Thank you for visiting :)
The Icad project seems to have created many ideas and you seem to be enjoying it. Grab bags of items are usually fun as they generally turn out not to be what you would normally buy. Hope you are staying dry and the garden is not yet a jungle.
hugs monica
These are all fun, but the first one is genius! It's great that you are trying out so many different techniques!
Have a great weekend!
I've really enjoyed all these. I particularly like your sewn ones. Must get the sewing machine out!
I have been curious about this index card project you are doing, and now that I have informed myself I have to say it looks like a lot of fun! I am more a sketcher than a multi media artist like you, but I feel myself being drawn in...
You've been very busy with your art. I like them :) I was very late with My "T" post this week. Didn't make it there until Wednesday :( The post explains why.
oh spectacular!!!!
Re: your question about the background of my SOC week 2 card, it was a stamp set from PTI called plaid builder, it was May's release (papertrey ink). Hope this is helpful! : )
Using no glue can really be a challenge for me, but here I find so many other interesting ways to attach stuff to the index cards! I received your ATCs in the mail and I loved both of them! What a great group we have! I think it's grand that you get together now and then! Hope I lived nearer!!! patsy
Another week of lovely index cards! I think its great that you are challenging yourself to not use glue, I know I would be struggling if I did that. I think my fav this week is the @Go your own way'.... which just made me smile!!
These are all so good, I really like the puns and the ideas you have for them all.
Wee Man said he might try a one staple collage and he thinks your ICADs look good. :D
Have an enjoyable weekend Elizabeth :0))
Great mix of images. From phrenology to hyenas...and a nice command to sit. Ha ha. I know you do all the challenges, but often I feel locked in a box by the themes. I just need to make what shows up most times. You seem to go with the flow much more easily. I applaud you for that. Xox
great Cards, all of them. but my fave are the hyenas, of course (the biologist in me will always come through...;))
I think your cards are great and I have no problem coming to visit you here to see them. You've put a lot of effort and creativity into them. Thanks for sharing.
