Moo-Mania meets Art Journal Journey

I simply couldn't resist making a simple spread for Moo-Mania and More's polka dot prompt this fortnight.  And when I thought about how I was going to decorate it, I decided to go with an old, old rubber stamp I found, which would fit nicely with Art Journal Journey's "Inspired by the Masters II" prompt.

My altered book is slightly larger than my scanner, but you can see I started with lavender pigment ink for the background.  Next I painted a couple of pages of card stock blue and off white, then used a punch to create the dots.  It took me three tries to get my Vitruvian Man to stamp half way decently, but in the end, I am happy with the outcome of this piece.  I apologize that the scan is slightly off center.

For those unfamiliar with the Vitruvian Man, it is a famous drawing by Leonardo da Vinci, where the original includes notes from the work of Vitruvius, an architect.  Leonardo was showing in pen and ink what has now come to be called "Canon of Proportions."
