This is Day 14 of 30 paintings in 30 days and I'm linking to Leslie Saeta at Slices of Life.
As promised, I once again gave my new fan brush a try. Nope. Don't care for it. I cut this one to the same size as yesterday's piece which is 5" X 10" (12,8 cm X 25,4 cm). I plan to hang the two of them together. Since this was a series piece, I'm calling it "Untitled with Fan Brush II."
What do you think of my new fan brush?

Looks great ELIZABETH!
You inspire me to use my fan brush for a background....
Happy Sunday!
I really like the effect the fan brush has given here. I'm not one for looking at abstract art and 'seeing' things, but here I actually do see a mix of rose petals laying in some water on a glass base viewed from below. And I think the colours are beautiful. :D
I love this Elizabeth! The colour combination reminds me of my hydrangeas. Love the way - intentional or not - that a light seems to shine through from behind! Chrisx
Oh Elizabeth these are both fab - they remind me of roses and chintz fabrics..they are beautiful and proves your eye for colour!
Must have been writing this at exactly the same time as Twinkle Toes and we seem to have similar ideas. Sorry you didn't like your fan brush Cx
Definitely keep that brush! I love the loose, swirly movement it gives, and the texture. These are gorgeous and will make a stunning series.
I see a Chinese man with a mustache at the top, a bird and a fish--very oriental themed. I like the fan brush and the colors!
At this point you are probably scratching your head thinking I am nuts at what I am seeing :)
This looks great...wonderful colors and I do think your fan brush is giving nice movement/flow!
But you're supposed to be having fun so I would use the brushes that make you happy!

I think the fan brush will be a useful tool for certain effects, but I've liked the pieces where you didn't use it better so far. I'm enjoying your exploration of the abstract. Tnx for sharing :)
I like it!
I like it! Now I'm going to have to look for my long lost brushes lol.
WOW WOW WOW!! This is amazing and gorgeous! I LOOOVE the colors and the effect this brush gives. Sorry you don't like it, don't use it then so you can make art that will make you happy.
Funny I thought I had already commented on this, but I don't see one from me - I believe I'm officially caught up now! I LOVE this painting. It reminds me of one of those fancy stones that has amazing patterns when cut into. Malachite I think? Although it's not nearly this fancy because it is all greeny blue. You used your new fan brush to its full advantage - lovely!
