Joirnal 52, Week 35: Making Time

It's once again time (pun intended) for Journal 52, where this 35th week's prompt is Making Time.

I admit this isn't one of my finer works.  To bore you a bit, I'm a bit timed out after altering an entire book on TIME.  You can see every page from beginning to end, if you haven't already.

Also, I've been moving a few things in my main floor craft room, and, although I labeled everything, I couldn't find clock numerals.  I could find hands, but no numerals.  Sadly, they were all together the first of the week.  That'll teach me to move things once I know where they are.

And finally, my dear friend Julia of WOYWW fame, sent me some clock die cuts, and for the life of me, I can't find them, either.  It all goes back to this move I'm making, which has suddenly turned into a disaster.  If this prompt had been last week, I would know where everything is, even though nothing was labeled.

I'll stop whining and give you two detail shots of week 35.

I began by using a gesso wash over the file folder.  When it was dry, I laid down a mask I spritzed one of my shimmering color mists over.  I used a red Sharpie to designate the week number,

spritzed a few "TIME"s (left over from my Time AB) with the same mist, and added them to the page.

As always, I appreciate your visit and your comments, because this is the only place you'll see this entry.

I am reminded of the song, "time time time it's on my side". the bits of red really stand out. xox

Love that mask! I have a clock one as well...but I think it's more of an over-sized pocket watch.

i love this i wish i could see the WHOLE thing in one photo, the close ups are nice to show detail though.

also E when you say 'mask' do you mean a stencil? i am not familiar with the term MASK in this context.

anyway i love it what you've done. i am reminded that i need to google images of wagon wheels, for an art piece i have in mind . . . thanks for the nudge.
cheers!

Elizabeth, I think this is great. I think you are just a bit jaded on the time theme after doing a whole AB on the topic! I love the colour scheme and that you added red to only some of the numerals. Gorgeous! I am trying to catch up on your blog this weekend so you will see some comments on posts from earlier this week coming soon. One thing you mentioned is how thick your gesso is, but I see you've thinned it to make a wash for this page. Is it in a tub or a pourable bottle? I have always bought pourable gesso and in fact did not know it came in a thick paste until visiting a friend. The brand I use is Liquitex and last time I bought a giant bottle that I just use to refill my smaller bottle that fits on my table.

Excellent work Elizabeth. I remember doing a time themed card a year so back and I wrote a cool quote that said, 'Time wasted doing what you love, isn't wasted time' I think that is very true. Hope yo ae enjoying your weekend :D

Hello Elizabeth, so nice to come here and see this!! I love clocks and anything about time. Looks so cool and the colors too, wish I had more time in my days right now. Thankful for what is done though, right.

I am the same way about moving my stuff. I always have a paper pile on my kitchen table and on the days I clean it up or move it over to somewhere I swear I loose things that I know were in that pile. Crazy!

Well, it's VERY HOT today and has been all week but today was the hottest. Crazy weather we are still having isn't it.
I did my Hello September post just now, seriously can't believe August will be over. That summer is over, YUCK!!
My ditch doesn't have any of the wildflowers in it from last year either. I have nothing to make my mandalas with. Have to get creative or "borrow" some from the neighbors yard.
Happy Weekend and Labor day friend, will see you on Tuesday.

A great page. I'm really behind - have missed the last three weeks.
