WOYWW 243: the one where she creates backgrounds

Julia, our beloved head Desker, along with other Deskers who visit What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday are ready to voyeur snoop their way around the world again.  Just click on Julia's name and links to other Deskers around the world like myself will magically appear in a new window.

Today I'm using one of my handmade color mists and a purchased color mist to create a few backgrounds on file folders.

I realize many of you came to see only the rocking horses.  Now some believe bigger is better, but today you get four for the price of clicking on my post.  They may be small, but they are all mighty (mighty loved, I might add).

Please leave your number, the one you get when you link up at Julia's, if you visit from WOYWW.  Although it took me till Monday night, I visited over 75 deskers thanks to the numbers.  If you didn't leave a number and I couldn't find you easily, I eventually stopped trying.

Love the backgrounds Elizabeth. I tend to be a bit heavy handed when I'm using sprays, must learn to leave white space, much more interesting. It's good to collect things, you with your horses and me with my stamps :-)

Beautiful backgrounds Elizabeth, I also picked up a Perfect Pearls Mist spray in Archiver's but had already put it away when I took the photo. I do enjoy using them. I was lucky with the bargains, if you go too early there's a lot of choice but not a great sale, leave it too late and it's all gone!

Now that's a great effect with the Misty Paints....and you exactly the background you want! Clever :-)
Do any of your rocking horses have names? They look so like fairground galloped in the carousels and they're all named. Or do you have just a few too many.... ;-)

I don't think I knew one could make their own misty stuff. That's rather brilliant and now makes me wonder how there can be so many mists on the market. Then I realize that I wonder that anyhow, since I'm not a fan of them. I know many others like it, so more power to y'all. I really like your sweet little rocking horses and seeing them was definitely worth the price of a click! Judy #96

Krisha said...

Wonderful backgrounds. I make my own mists also, so much less expensive, and I can create my own mix to create new colors.

What are your backgrounds being made for?

Love little rockers

Thanks for the earlier visit. I got my post up and then went to bed. Now I am playing a little catch-up

You referred to the doily hearts..I just ordered them from Oriental Trading..they have free shipping once in a while so I ordered a few things. Online I think they have different sizes this set came with the 3 colors.
I like the backgrounds, I need to get some done ahead but it was a sunshine day so we went out 29 here !!!! wow spring like. Enjoy your week.......have lots to get caught up on.

As always the rocking horses are adorable! Love misted backgrounds but so fed up with misters that don't work if you leave them that I have taken to decanting/making just what I need into spare bottles and then cleaning them up when I finish. I am so pleased you entered my giveaway - I think that even if your name doesn't come out of the hat there might be a Timmy Tag in your future. Thanks you for the visit, you won't have to look for me again because you've already been!! Cindy x

OMG! #1 again! Congrats. I have started playing with homemade supplies because I am really tired of going broke chasing the new and latest fads. Do you use any specific pigment or color to make your sprays? any kind of stablizer? Love the rocking horses Elizabeth. Thanks for sharing them I am late getting posted again this week so you can find me at #111. Vickie aka Okienurse

My desk is in the living room so I can't ban the cats from my craft room. None of the cats ever got on my desk until we got Charles and Dio. I tried to teach them to stay off but it was a loosing battle. Now even the older cats get up on my desk. Cat fur has become a frequent embellishment.

Flizabeth, Thanks for visiting me,the stamp pad holder came complete with stamps pads in it. They are Whispers inks and unfortunately the do not make them any more. But yes it is an extremely good way of storing them.

Hi Elizabeth
looks like you are having fun with the sprays.... I think we all enjoy getting messy with the inks, they look great.
Thanks for your visit earlier. The registry office on the invitations it is the place where we go to have the non religious ceremony... the actual wedding ceremony but not in a church, so its quite important. there isn't usually enough room for all the guests so, many of them will go straight to the reception. As these events are very expensive most of their friends will only be coming to the dance in the evening... just the way it is done over here, but it works

I can't believe how long it is taking me to get round everyone this week, and I was sure I had visited you, but I reckon I was just thinking of last week. Where has January gone already? I agree with the others that those misty backgrounds are lovely. You gave us extra with a whole herd of rocking horses too. I have to admit that my desk is now a mess again, but still not as bad. I ran out of time yesterday and the dogs wanted out - NOW!!! So I did not get the clearing up done after I had finished doing my altered Clarity envelope. That was a light hearted dare between me and Sam Crowe, following several other bragging comments from both of us. Being a padded envelope, it was quite challenging but still the fun it was intended to be. Have a good week. xx Maggie #2 PS how did you get in before me, when Mr Linky said I was first - he tells fibs.
