WOYWW 220: The one where she shows her mailing desk

Since I didn't incur Julia's (our queen of Deskers) wrath last week, I'm back with another relatively long post.

This time I thought instead of showing you that same old, same old empty desk WOYWWendy is hogging at the moment,

you might like to see what I refer to as my mailing desk.  Although I don't participate in a lot of swaps anymore,

and it's quickly being overtaken by awesome art (as well as several rocking horses, including the lovely rocking horse on the wall I got from our very own Julia),

everything I need to mail packages and letters is in this area.  Bubble wrap and other packing is in the container to the left in the photo.

The top two drawers in this cabinet contain everything else I need to mail packages, both here and internationally.

Scales, labels, back-up tape, and postage stamps, sorted by denomination (with our "new" Forever 1st class stamps on top, then the remainder in ascending order) are kept neatly here.

This side is not so neat.  The savvy snooper observer will note I've hidden my other mailing labels because I didn't want to have to erase them in PS.  Other goodies include white-out, a couple of ink pens, and mailing costs by options and ounces.

I'll leave you with a close-up of two of my favorite rockers, even though most of you have seen them both before.

The usual caveat applies: if coming from Julia's, please leave your number.

Wow, how organised are you with your very own little post office going on there! I can lay my hands on all the stuff I need to post things but it means going in five directions to collect it all! Lovely to see your rocking horse so at home with the jigsaw on your desk!! :)

Definitely love this rocking horse, and the tiny one underneath. Rather impressed you have a mailing desk/drawer...I'm lucky if I can get 'thing' in the envelope and find a stamp and send it...or 'think' I've sent it...til I find it again some months later.. happy WOYWW

Sorry my blog gave you a little trouble. I might have been posting when you were trying to comment. Thanks for trying again. I was happy to get your comment.

I like your organization for your mailing. I recently dedicated a small section of my room to mailing supplies and I like not having to hunt for stuff anymore.

I like the card with the clothes line. Very cute.

Have a blessed day!

Elizabeth, you are SOooo organised! Most impressive - but how do you know how much each item will cost? Our mailing service is so variable regarding costs, you could never risk sending something without going to the post office.
I do like the rocking horses.
have a great week.

I see Bleubeard is watching me and can tell he is saying he wants acknowledgement so here goes - give BB a tickle under the chin from me.
Right, now to your mailing desk - it is awesome. You must have one big room (I remember the setting up of it ages ago) to have a station especially for that. I think our tape is in the utility room, postage stamps in the kitchen drawer, wrapping paper in the study ... you get the picture.
Great rocking horses as always to leave us with.
Hugs and thanks for your earlier visit - Neet xx 32 I think

Nicely organised desks! I've got three rather big desks in my studio in Vancouver but somehow all the stuff which should be inside the drawers is always on the desk surface...lol. It must be the house gremlins. ;)

How wonderfully organised. I do have a box which has the helpful label 'things to post' but no space to be this orderly. But how I would love it, speaks to my nature of everything in its place and being able to put your hands on things straight away. I really don't understand why I am such a messy moo as there is definitely a tidy person inside!! I love trading but I don't have the time to commit to many things these days and postage costs have just become so prohibitive a lot of my old groups have folded. I miss my happy mail!! Still there's always WOYWW!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #59

Now that's what we call organisation. We have a few old envelopes floating about somewhere and a few stamps elsewhere. Organised bears? Not!

Fab swap projects by the way, lucky you.

I use to have a small roll top desk that I called, my writing desk. Yes, brilliant -- I know.
I miss it. It is nice to have a space eeked out for particular tasks with all the things you need tucked away in that spot. Now I run around like a chicken with her head cut off grabbing for stamps, calculators, a pen that writes. Ugh. Virginia Wolfe where are you!!

I can't believe that you have a separate mail desk, that's just way too cool! We did have a lot of fun at the track, there were other people we knew and hung out with, drinking some beer and telling silly stories after dinner, laughing until our sides ached! Good times, makes me a little wistful that racing is almost over again for this year though.

I am so impressed with the mailing desk. Everyone in one spot so neatly organized and THERE. I used to be the queen of mailing but I hardly do mail anymore except cards. I had friends who were always sending each other stamps and embellishments or other goodies. The high cost of postage put a stop to that. It is silly to spend $6 to send $2 worth of trinkets. Well, how organised are you, Elizabeth? Two drawers dedicated to mailing - I now feel lacking in the postal department :) Love the rocking horses, of course. Many thanks for your earlier visit and thanks for your kind words - sadly, the perpetrator is, as you say, highly unlikely to be caught but I console my thought that no good will ever come to people who are so mean. Hope you have a good week. Elizabeth x #47

Thanks so much for the help on my links, will look at it in the morning.
So glad you enjoyed my birthday post too, nice to share these special days with others. That banner is so special and I will keep it when it comes down. Told Renee I would staple them and put it in my Project Life album, I do add things like that sometimes. Not sure about the cards yet, thinking I need a special box or something to keep them in. Funny now that I'm getting older I like to celebrate it more.
Good night and see you in the AM.

Your mailing desk is marvelous, wow, everything right there! We mail lots of stuff for our business, so the good thing is the husband prints my labels for me for domestic stuff, and will stand in line at the PO for the overseas--what a great guy!

But the bad news is, he always uses up all the bubble mailers!!!

But we aren't as organized as you are, not by a long shot.

Thank you for stopping by this woyww!

THANK YOU for including the little guy. Hope you are having a fabulous weekend. (((HUGS)))
