Tea, cameras, and a new way to celebrate Tuesday Tea

No tea today.

Instead, I'm in my craft room where safety rules.  I'm drinking freshly ground French Roast coffee, turned white with half and half in an ugly mug that has a lid and straw.  No chance it will get mistaken for a paint clean-up jar.  And it's hard to tip it over, too.

On my table are my two old cameras.  The silver one in back is the one I've used for years.  The red one is the one I've been taking photos with the past few weeks.

I didn't read the 9000 plus pages of instructions (grin) to this new camera before I started snapping photos on "auto," so the top photo was accidentally taken with the flash on.  I finally figured out how to turn it off, and this is what I got when I did.

Just so you can see the difference, here is what the new Kodak camera looks like when I took a photo with my red camera.  Now all I need is a battery charger for Lithium, as opposed to NiCad batteries, and I'll be set to take photos with that Kodak for years to come.

I also want to announce next week we will begin using Mr. Linky, along with what I am calling T Stands For Tuesday.  Since I will be hosting and I really don't believe in rules, we will have a few guidelines.  I want Tuesdays to represent talk, art, whimsey, photos, your drink of choice, whether it is tea or some other drink, and whatever you want to blog about.

You don't have to drink tea, you don't have to take the photo on Tuesday, you can talk about anything, enjoy any drink, even create a recipe, show journal pages, flower arranging, encaustics, your favorite pet, sewing, altered book pages, a shopping trip, a day at the beach, visiting a museum, shoveling snow, skate boarding, combing your hair (you get the idea), and any photos, as long as you can relate them in some way to T Stands for Tuesday.  I'm sure many of you can put a cup, mug, a coke sign, or even an empty glass somewhere in camera range, and join in T Stands For Tuesday fun.  For now, please leave your link in comments and we'll stop by for a visit.  Next week, we'll have links each week, which will make it much easier for others to find you.

If you like, please join me for this final Tea Tuesday without links.   It will be fun to see if we get a few new people to join us this week.

And don't forget to wish me luck finding a battery charger!

Wishing you well in your camera adventures ... those thick manuals never invite me in that's for sure ;)
I just want to take nice pictures LOL

I have enjoyed checking in on Tuesdays and will look forward to Mr Linky's as that will make it alot easier to connect with others.

I met a blog friend in the UK a few Tuesdays ago and wrote about it here:

Wow, some difference when you use the flash, all the colour is there and it is in focus!! Yippee! I tend not to read the entire manual.. just the appropriate bit every time I want to do something different... its much easier on my pea sized brain!!
Uhum... that is one ugly mug!! LOL I suppose it has the saving grace of being safe around your artwork... ;)

Well, Congrats on the new camera!
T Stands For Tuesday sounds fun, I will be sure to be prepared for next week. (I'm still in my PJs and drinking my coffee right now LOL)
I am surprised the camera didn't come with a battery charger cord.

i know you're excited about your new camera. my camera flash doesn't work any more (as of last week), and although i don't use the flash much, it's nice to have it when i want it. my daughter says i should get a smartphone because they take better pics than most cameras. i'd just rather have my boring little cellphone and a separate camera. i'm out of touch with much modern technology, i guess. lol

i had some italian coffee for t-tuesday: http://divers-and-sundry.blogspot.com/2013/07/in-blu.html

i look forward to mr. linky. thx! :)

hi Elizabeth.
the SECOND photo looks the best (to me) is that the one taken with the flash?

i'm confused . . . i thought the RED camera was your new(er) camera?
if the 2nd photo was "taken accidentally taken with the flash", how did the red camera get in the picture?

am i missing something?
anyway, not important, happy you have a new camera that works for you. having a charger will be important however. good luck with finding one.

PS i drink coffee too.
T stands for Tuesday sounds fun

You poor thing, your camera woes are enough to give me a migraine! :) So glad you're close to figuring it out...it's always nice to be able to share what we're doing/seeing with a minimal amount of muss and fuss.

oh me too..manuals are for boys until a girl needs to know something specific...and then the index is a hurdle! it ne er starts with 'how do i...'!
i think Linky is genius for next week, and i think even I could get into a T tuesday mode!

Oops! Yep I realize that it wasn't ... my fingers can't type what the old brain is thinking tonight. :) hugs

Ah, I see. Well, if you use them again, give them a lightish spray with hair spray (MUCH cheaper than fixative) and you won't have a problem :)

Love your craftiness and you could win that ribbon that's on my burlap bag if you're lucky in the blog hop!!

Congrats on the new camera. That was such a nice gift. Look forward to see what you do with the goodies you received.
This is what I think about manuals. I reference material. find out what the buttons are and then play around with the camera. Go on YouTube if you have questions or looking for tips. YouTube seems to have anything.
Tea Tuesday sounds fun. I am an avid tea drinker and love all things related to tea.

Have a blessed day!
