Index Card a Day (ICAD) for July 13 through 19
Once again I'm linking to Tammy at Daisy Yellow and working on more ICADs. This is a fun, although sometimes labor intensive project. I know these are supposed to be quick and easy, but some days they come together that way, and others they don't. Observe my latest week's entries.
Day 43
I found this in my scrap pile. I had tried to cut a butterfly using a friend's punch, but it didn't cut perfectly as planned. So I used one of her stamps and added the sentiment. When I saw Tammy's theme of nature for this week, I knew I had the perfect beginning for this IC. I added some ribbon and a circle I colored. Then I made the IC to look like I was sending someone a thoughtful card.
Day 44
Continuing with the nature theme, I found some leftovers scraps from previous projects. I decided to sew everything together.
Day 45
Another nature inspired piece I made from leftovers from one of my SOC entries.
Day 46
For this IC, I started with some paint I dry brushed on. I got out my Twinkling H2Os and went to town coloring a book page. I then used my bird punch on the colorful book page.
Day 47
More nature inspired "art." I had planned to make the bird look like it was sitting amidst some green boughs, but that didn't work. I had to come up with a solution to my mess. However, I think it's still a mess!
Day 48
I'm not quite sure how this IC got on my work table, but I found it with all this paint on it. I immediately saw a bird and tried to draw it in. Remember, I'm the gal who can't draw. But this almost reminded me of that childhood game where you drew lines between the numbers. So that's what I did. To finish it off, I had the bird land on two balls.
Day 49
For my final nature inspired piece, I stamped the leaves and grapes, but didn't realize I was using pigment ink. For those of you who don't stamp (sort of like me), pigment ink is SLOOOOOOOOOOOW drying. So of course, i had to smudge the image when I picked it up to sew it. The background has some of my handmade shimmering mist. BTW, those are paint chip samples I sewed to the IC.
Please don't forget to visit Tammy at Daisy Yellow for the links to others playing in this two month event. I know they will appreciate your visit as much as I do.

My favourites are day 45 and day 46 - love those little birds with text showing through as texture.
I think they are all lovely! Are you putting all these into a book when they are all done? Would be so cool!!
Wow--these are wonderful! I'm so far behind on my ICADs...played a little catch up yesterday. All your birds are so sweet!

I like them all. The bird you drew is perhaps my favorite. I think I need a bird punch though, those little birdie bits look like they would be fun to play with.

Great cards! I really love the birds. (Bleubirds?!)
Day 48... genius! I love all the little (bleu) birds, I have bird stamp envy. This is such a lovely nature collection. It reminds me of the nature table at play school.
