So today I've pulled out all the stops and added a couple of scoops of already melting Rainbow Sherbet to a glass. Now those of you who know me, know I don't drink
All that foamy goodness looks like just the thing I need to cool down. I think I'll grab a straw and finish this prior to it melting before I can appreciate the chill. Now please visit Kimmie for the list, because some of my friends have really awesome Tea Tuesday stories (and art) you won't want to miss.
Speaking of stories (and art), I am taking a short break, something I don't normally do. I plan to visit my AB students and ooh and aah over their homework, check out my Tea Tuesday friends, pop in on a few other internet artists, then shut my computer off for several days. I truly need this break. I hope to be back by the weekend.

what a yummy way to start a well deserved retreat.
your self imposed break from the blogisphere sounds great. See you soon.
I don't drink carbonated beverages except for seltzer if that counts, but this sounds truly refreshing! Enjoy your very well-deserved break, Elizabeth!
mmm makes me want a root beer float! looks so pretty... hope it gets a bit cooler for you... we have an early autumn and I will take it!
looks frothy and refreshing E ... enjoy your break ... we are having a touch of cooler weather and liking it ... you stay cool :)

...Hi Elizabeth, well your delicious looking drink looks like something we have here called an ice-cream soda, which must be similar to the sorbet and by all accounts very refreshing...we too have a heat wave and it's so not nice working in it, totally draining of energy...I hope Bleubeard is coping ok in the heat...have a good few days rest and recharge...Melxx :)
Your sherbet float looks yummy and cool, I hope you enjoy your computer break, I'm too addicted to mine to consider being away from it a break..that's more like torture! lol The weather has cooled off wonderfully here, I turned off the air and opened windows yesterday, looks like I'll be able to do that all week too! yay! Only bad part is cooler weather means hummingbirds will be leaving soon! Give Bluebeard a nuzzle from me! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
Hi Elizabeth, the sorbet looks delicious!! I'n not a huge fan of carbonated drinks either, except mountain dew, which is not easy to purchase here in the Netherlands. At the moment I drink a lot of cold coffee, just delicious!! The temperature is slowly decrading (is that how you spell it??) But the temperature at sea the other day was too cold. The strong winds and clouded sun just made it chilly. But indeed a lot better dan my hot room :) How is Bluebeard hanging on?? Our cat just sleeps most of the day.
Love Susan
Boy, that looks good! I've never thought of using sherbert but that sounds like an outstanding combo. Enjoy your vacation from blogging...I understand the need and I don't do nearly as much as you do. Have fun.
Oh yum! When I was a kid my dad would make me a "7-up fizz" instead of a rootbeer float. Such great memories. Thanks for joggin my memory with this post. :)
We just got back from vacation....will hopefully get a post up tomorrow.
I don't drink carbonated drinks either...but this kinda' looks tempting. Maybe it's the hot sunny sunshine in your photos..but I'm suddenly thirsty. I'll just stick to my refreshing water!
have yourself a good little break!
ciao bella

Looks wonderful! One of my favorite treats that my Grandmother used to make on a summer Sunday afternoon was a Brown Cow. Root beer with chocolate ice cream...Have a wonderful little break and recharge your batteries my dear. Enjoy your 'time off!'
Oh now that looks just so good. xox
That drink certainly sounds a good mix! When I was little we had Cream Soda ( it was green) and ice cream float ... oooh it was yummy but I can't get the Cream Soda now. Don't know if it's especially English or not.
Missed you today on WOYWW but hope you are well,
JoZarty x
In my opinion, there is nothing better for cooling you down than an ice cream float- YUM! Enjoy your break- I promise to actually BE here when you get back ;) I'm slowly catching up in blogland after a (too) long absence!
I've missed you, my friend!
I missed you at WOYWW this week. Saw a cute little rocking horse in my local craft store and he begged to go to you, so I could not just leave him there, now could I/ If you send me your address to tertiaj@telkomsa.net I will make sure he gets to you.
Hugs from South Africa
That does look yummy! You're taking a break and I am trying to catch up. Enjoy! We all need respite sometimes. :):)
Boy! Hasn't this summer been one for the record books? It's hot one day, and then the next, and then the next, and then etc. I usually hate to see summer end, but this year I am more than ready to welcome in some autumn weather. I found your blog through mutual followers. I absolutely love that button page boarder and your wonderful step by step photos. I am your newest follower #593. I hope that I can convince you to visit my blog and follow me back. I'm a retired activity director, a wife, mother, and grandma. I enjoy so many artsy, craftsy things, but my biggest enjoyment is just waking up each morning to a new and wonderful day. Have a lovely day . . . I do hope I hear from you, I truly enjoy meeting new blogging sisters from all across our beautiful world. Connie :)
Your drink looks YUMMY! Enjoy your break, Elizabeth!
See you soon.
