The rip - off, impersonation, or imitation?

I didn't start out with a plan to rip off, imitate, or impersonate Patty's Tea Tuesday post from last week, but that's sort of what it looks like today. Here's the story:

Early this morning in already 100 degrees F (~38 degrees C), I went to the market for some dyeing supplies and, while I was there, I picked up fruit. The pineapple and cantaloupe need to sit at room temperature for a couple of days, so I set them on one of my cobalt blue plates. As I was placing the strawberries in the refrigerator, I grabbed a glass and put a few in it, thinking about the halos that Patty talked about last week. I commented that I often have these halos after eating a complete strawberry, which is the only way I will eat them. The next logical thing was to press the strawberry greens as Patty had done.

That's when I decided I wanted to celebrate eating these strawberries while drinking tea. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate pressing the greens than to enjoy the strawberries with a cup of hibiscus tea, the same tea sent to me by Annette. So although this post might remind everyone that it looked like it had been posted by someone else before (last week, in fact), it was unintentional until after I saw the photos on my computer screen. And remember, Patty, imitation (and impersonation) is the greatest form of flattery!

Someone who can't be impersonated is Kimmie, who keeps the links to our Tea Tuesday posts. So be sure to check out her blog for all my other tea drinking friends.

And please be aware that I am still unable to leave comments on blogs with embedded comment areas. There is simply no box or anything I can press in the area under the words "Post a Comment." I keep reading that others are having the same problem, so I know I'm not alone in this frustrating Blogger mess.

hah you're funny E...there is nothing new under the sun...and no surprise that we think alike :)

I just checked on my strawberry halos and they look great...might be time for more berries...now if only blueberries had some pressable by product!

Happy T to you ... I am a BIG fruit fan too!

You may have imitated a bit, but you didn't duplicate!!! Besides, I don't think there's a plagerism law for pineapples in a post!!! Happy Tuesday! Hugs, Terri xoxox

Heck! I duplicate myself all the time. And inspiration from others is what keeps us thinking and creating. The Arabs believe that Hibiscus tea is great for stomach problems. It's definitely a tea to steep and remove otherwise it gets too strong. Hope your day is a good one. Blessings, Tammy

I wouldn't have given it a second thought...but if you recall, I seem to have the memory of a goldfish lately. :)

every child understands the importance of experiencing something for the first time for ones self, evincing sheer joy or utter revulsion...

and that is unique - one's personal experience of a thing,

no matter that that thing was already ;tried out; by many others

it is also probably why artists in particular have a hard time learning from anyone else's experience - we will not be told- we have to try it ourselves,

I can imagine the fun you had today...

now where are my strawbs...must try it for myself

I unembedded my comments and then started getting comments lol. The fruit looks lovely, and the tea sounds delicous. And YIKES 100??? *shudder*. I woke up at 3 am, which meant I was wide awake by 7 and did 3 hours of gardening and now my arms are unlively lol.

I didn't know about Cantalopes pineapples sitting at room temperature. I used to keep tomatos out until I had a cat who had seen Attack of the Killer Tomatos and would attack them first with a ferocity that had to be seen (and heard) to be believed. I think I need to scrap that lol.

I have plans to shamelessly copy Patty's pressed strawberry halos too .... The next time I get strawberries that is! I thought it was a brilliant idea .... And Patty is so very generous with ideas and just about everything else too! It is true that there is nothing new under the sun - and it is so fun to be able to see what so many people are creating under this same sun that we all share! Speaking of which - 100 degrees? Yikes! But Tammy said it's 120 in Kuwait ... So it could be worse I guess!
