I was able to finish my first set of Arches for the 7th Anniversary swap on ABC in time to actually have a post today before Where Bloggers Create II, which I will post this evening.
The left image is the back. When I carved my "2010" rubber stamp, I thought my date stamp only went to 2009. What a surprise I got when I saw it goes through 2010. I was able to use my newly carved ABC stamp. The background was made using pink and blue alcohol inks and 91% rubbing alcohol. And yes, the 7 is a reflective mailbox number.
ABC is 7 this July 1, and I'm quite proud of it. That is why this arch became an invitation to attend the party. Feel free to click to enlarge.
The image on the right is a combination of many media. The "skirt" is made from fabric strips I dyed last week using the same alcohol inks and 91% rubbing alcohol I used on the back of the invitation, only this time, I combined the two colors. The bodice is a combination of pink and blue oil pastels, and the "you're invited" is the dregs of the AIs used to dye the fabric. I "rehydrated" what was left in the cup using alcohol and colored the paper using a foam brush.
I'm off to get ready for this big blog party. I still have lots of pictures to take. Enjoy your day.
Also, I have disabled word verification through next Wednesday (June 23) so it will be faster when you leave a comment about my creative space.

This has turned out really well - I love the effect of the background colours...and that you even used the dregs of the mix. Honestly Elizabeth, we are so unalike...must be why we're friends!
