Farewell dear friend

George Cannady: September 8, 1930 - March 7, 2008
It is with much regret and sadness that I feel with today's post. I have lost a very dear friend. George passed away around 11:00 am yesterday of a heart attack. He was survived by his life partner Bille Whitney, a son, and a daughter. Billie's two children can also be counted as family.
He loved to cook, and usually did so on holidays, including Christmas.

He always wore red suspenders.

Although out of focus, this is that grin he gave when he was being mischievious.

Sometimes he was just sad, even when those around him were celebrating.
This is one of the last photos I have of George, taken on Christmas eve 2008, the day I introduced him to my art friend Dana.

So shake that fist at your maker, George. Tell him you lived a good and honest life, helping others along the way. I know there's a place for you in heaven, since you were so giving. You will be genuinely and greatly missed.

I was shocked to read of George's passing - I am so sorry! I know he was a very special friend to you and he knew that you were his special friend also - you created wonderful altered cards and books for him that I am sure he cherished. You were a great friend to him in many ways.
hugs,
jackie
