I started this page this morning before I left for Sally's. I began by placing my home made bird stencil over a portion of a phone book page I glazed with blue (tired of that color, yet?). I left the mask on while I painted green, red, and white acrylic paint on the bird, then splattered yellow paint on top of the dry paint. I'm continually amazed at how strong phone book pages are, and how well they take paint and glue without ripping or tearing.
I made the background awhile back and thought it looked like bird feathers. I came home for "lunch" and made the small ball of thread and glued it to the page. Later, I added the tree branch, the bird, the sentiment, and glued down the end of the string.
Cost? String, paint, white glue, E-6000.

This is beautiful. I love how you colored the bird.
