A week of art: Thursday

After making a few red rosin papers (Theresa really LOVED this background, but it was too messy to take photos of), Theresa wanted to make a plaque out of clay, similar to the ones Kathy and I made last year. Theresa used her travel stamps as her inspiration. Here she is running clay through the pasta machine.
Once the clay was conditioned, she stamped and cut the images.
OOPS!! Forgot to use an index card, so the image stretched a bit.
Unlike when Kathy and I made ours, I had Theresa use a block of black clay as the base on which to place the baked clay stamped pieces. First we removed a book cover from a large book, then Theresa removed the cover on the book, stripping it down to the chipboard. Next we designed the piece arranging and rearranging the baked pieces you see in the photo, then cut the chipboard to size. I had Theresa add a thin layer of liquid polymer clay to the chipboard, then the black raw clay. Next, she put just a dab of liquid polymer clay on each of the tiles and assembled them onto the unbaked black clay. Finally, she baked the entire piece in the toaster oven.
Bleubeard knew Theresa wouldn't be around long, so he was getting all the loving from her he could get. I'm not sure which one was enjoying it more.
True affection on both their parts!!!
Theresa told me to get the camera and take pictures of her being held hostage by Bleubeard.
He laid that way for over 20 minutes before getting bored.
A rare moment of showing off for Theresa, something he won't do for me.

it was so cool to see pictures of Theresa (I'm in an ABRR group with her) and Bleubeard is gorgeous!! (I was very happy to see that I am not the only person with cats that don't look starved, LOL!)
