I want to begin by thanking my friend Halle of Halle's Hobbies for hosting in July. I loved her theme and many of you did, too. I only wish I could have played more, but life got in the way.
Today we welcome a new host, as we do every month. Our host this month is no stranger to any of you art journal, mixed media, photography, tag, travel, and bee lovers. Yes, it is our co-host at Art Journal Journey, my friend Erika, who many of you know as BioArtGal. Erika's theme for the entire month at AJJ is In the good old summertime. Erika emphasizes your art can be vintage or current summertime activities. Below is my interpretation of her theme.
I found this image in my stash and it screamed summertime to me. I first cut it to size, then spent a lot of time getting the background right. However, once I scanned it, the fact that I meticulously staggered and overlapped the strips of security envelopes I used doesn't show in the scan. You might be able to see it on the close up. After situating the focal image to the background, I added the wording using ransom style lettering. Please remember we
welcome art journal pages that meet the theme requirements,
altered book
pages, canvases, loose, or stand alone pages including fabric and
digital art. I (and the administrators) do not leave comments on Facebook, TicTok, or Instagram entries. We do not allow cards!!! Period! We also don't allow tags, index cards, ATCs, or ATCoins, unless
they are
part of a journal page, and as much as we don't want to, will be forced
to delete your entry. Please remember if your
blog is not in English, we ask that you translate it for us since the translation tool doesn't work on some blogs, including mine. Finally, we do not allow back-links to any journal page published prior to the start date of this month's challenge. Hope to see you and your interpretation of In the good old summertime
