In the clouds

Now that my herbs and veggies are finally planted, I can turn my attention to Art Journal Journey, and my dear friend and host this month, Mia who can be found at Craftartista.  As you can tell, Mia's theme for May is Birds

I call this In the clouds.  A detail of the bird is below.  The sentiment reads "Her head was in the clouds."

I have no idea what the bird species is, but she is a beauty.  And because the bird has a face, I'm also sharing this with Nicole and Friday Face Off

Of course, it wouldn't be Friday without a giggle or two at Friday Smiles.

Those banana ducks are funny. And that's a super page for Mia's challenge. I don't know what kind of bird that is either (maybe a warbler but I don't know much about warblers except the ones I see around my house). I was going to post a page yesterday and then the bear event happened.

To answer your questions, last year I only had one hive. I've tried to get a second hive going each of the last couple of years but never had any luck. But I do have 1 strong hive from last year and I would like a second hive. I don't want a whole lot of hives, but 2 would be good. And yes, we put a windbreak up over the winter, but that has come down now that the winter cold is gone and we just have spring cold. (Maybe next week it will warm up) And I put on a suit when I installed the new bees because you get around 10-12,000 bees out and about at that time, and and they are all stirred up having to be dumped out of the shipping box and I really don't want bees getting down under my clothes. Even in the suit I had one bee stuck in the cuff which didn't sting me and flew off later once I freed her. That's why my feet were covered. Normally I don't wear a suit but when I'm doing something that stirs them up I do wear one. Hope that answers your questions.

Have a great FRiday. hugs-Erika
