As most of you know, I like my second look each month to reflect our host at Art Journal Journey's (AJJ) theme. That means I needed to find something related to Erika's What's Up?
For several years I participated in the Craft Barn Challenges. Sadly, the Craft Barn, a UK company that sold all kinds of scrapbook, altered art, and mixed media supplies has now been closed for several years. These were year long challenges, each issued every fortnight. In 2014, their theme was Lyrics and Quotes. This is from January, 2014.
Things to remember were you had to use one or both of the word prompts they
gave. For lyrics, the artist and song title had to be part of the
spread.
For the first prompt, which was either Smile or Up, I chose Up, represented by Up, Up, and Away (in my Beautiful Balloon).
It was the one song I could think of when I saw the prompt. I decided
to use one of my many used file folders.
In addition to the file folder I colored with my homemade shimmer mist,
I also used an image from a vintage book and a tag that held the
relevant information about the artists and title. I tied them together
using a brown Micron .05 mm ink pen.

Now it's time to share your own Second on the 2nd. The rules are quite simple and everyone is welcome to join the fun look back. All you have to do is bring back a post that you are especially proud of, or perhaps one you shared before anyone knew your blog existed. It could even be one that holds special meaning. Any post, any genre, any artistic endeavor is acceptable, as long as it's been published sometime in the past. Then link below (direct links only, please) and Bleubeard and I, along with other Second on the 2nd friends, will be by to visit, although I may not be able to leave a comment.

2 thoughtful remarks:
Happy New Year dear Elizabeth.
What a beautiful page! I love the balloon image. I think Up, Up And Away would also be the first song that came to my mind. I'm singing it now.
Happy Second on the 2nd,
Lisca
...Elizabeth, keep looking up.
