I burned my right hand badly the night before we were to leave. I almost didn't go. I was in severe pain. No amount of Neosporin relieved the pain. However, I was hoping the trip would take my mind off the pain. I managed to bandage my hand before we left, but I didn't even bother taking my art supplies because I knew I would not be able to create anything. Thankfully I have very understanding friends who didn't ask for much from me. Of course, I couldn't drive one handed, either.

Here we are leaving Kansas.

I managed to get both signs in this one from the front passenger seat (where I sat the entire trip).

I was hoping to get good shots.

A really lousy photo of Missouri welcoming us to their state.

We saw a Farmer's Market sign and decided to stop.

I bought a small jar of honey, tuna salad, pea salad, and some of the
best homemade bread I've tasted in a long time.

I also got a homemade
brownie. I gladly shared everything except the brownie and the honey
which I didn't open till I got home.

After setting up the table, I turned to have a look around the park and river.

Everything was so green and lush.

The water was surprisingly rapid.

The park was a fun and surprising find.

As we were leaving, we had to wait for three Canada geese to cross the road.

While we waited, one of the group decided we should head south to Silver Dollar City and a new exhibit we should see.

Also while we made up our minds, I snagged a rather poor shot of the playground area.

By heading south instead of going to St. Louis,

we missed all the storms

and tornadoes that ravaged St. Louis.

I tried to smudge the faces as I took a photo of the museum my friend wanted to visit. What she didn't know was tickets were sold in advance at 1/2 hour intervals. There were no tickets available for the entire weekend. All tickets had been sold weeks ago. At least we got to see the exterior of the replica and the iceberg that sunk it.
Thanks for going to Missouri with me. Now I'm off to rest both hands. I'll be by to visit as much and as soon as my hand permits. Thanks for understanding.

I hope your hand recovers soon and isn't too badly damaged. You take care.
You have been in the wars again. Rest up and take care of you. Please.
I hope your hand feels better soon. That sounds like a nasty burn. And it looks like a lovely park where you had your picnic, and it's too bad you couldn't get tickets for the exhibit. I haven't ever been to a Titanic exhibit, but I have seen views of some where you can see actual items they remotely rescued. But I never knew they had a traveling whole ship and iceberg exhibit. I bet that would have been interesting. And FYI- emailed you some items for AJJ. hugs-Erika
...take care and I hope that you heal quickly!
I hope your hand gets better soon.
Too bad you couldn't find tickets for the Museum,
but it looks fantastic from the outside.
Thanks for the ride to Missouri!!
I'm so glad your trip detoured you from those terrible storms. The farmer's market park sounded like a perfect rest stop. Too bad about not getting tickets to the Titanic. That would have been an interesting exhibit. I hope your hand feels better.
Oh dear, I do hope your hand feels better soon.
I enjoyed seeing your photographs.
All the best Jan
Timed tickets are so frequently the only option, recently. I guess it beats waiting in a long lline.
Good luck with healing your hand.
Please warning before ... I feel all dizzy! Hope you are better.
Cool pics but oh, so sad you could not enter the museum!
I'm sorry about your hand, Elizabeth and hope it heals quickly. It must have been disappointing not to get into the exhibit but seeing the ship was massive. Your picnic in the park looks fun, too. That burn sounds grim and the timing couldn't have been worse but I'm glad you decided to go and I hope that being with friends helped.
Sorry to hear about your burn, I hope it heals quickly and the pain subsides! Take care
