Free to fly

I'm home and happy to see the boys (fur babies).  They missed me and I missed them.  I confess, I sleep better in my own bed.

Today I'm once again joining Neet (at Hickydorums) who is our host this month at Art Journal Journey.  By now you probably know her theme is It must have wings.

This mixed media entry is called Free to fly.  And because this is a rather simple entry, I'm also sharing this with Try it on Tuesday, whose theme this fortnight is Keep it Simple. Detail shots are below.

I started by lightly sanding the background, then adhered the bird which started life as a coaster from Nature Conservancy.  I computer generated the words and outlined them using black dye ink.

Thanks for dropping by today. Bleubeard and I are delighted you stopped by and hope to see you at Art Journal Journey and Try it on Tuesday.

Free to fly but good to be home again. Did you get caught in the terrible tornado in St. Louis?

What a lovely background you have achieved which works perfectly for the picture of the ever so pretty bird. Love how he/she is perched with apple blossom. Thanks for another lovely entry for the challenge at AJJ.

I hope you had a wonderful time and didn't hit any of those storms I saw on the news. And that's a cool page. I like how you turned the background photo on its side and added the bird photo. It is a beautiful species. This is another lovely entry for Neet's challenge. Happy Monday. "See" you tonight for T. hugs-Erika
