I know many of you are wondering where I've been, especially since I had so many T Tuesday participants to visit. Late Monday afternoon, early evening, I was gathering my mail when my neighbor two doors down waved as she got into her car. I was surprised when she pulled into my driveway and asked if I wanted to go to the grocery store with her. I thought why not. It would be a way to get to know her a bit better, too. I put my mail on the cat tower and took off with her. As we started to make a right turn at the four way, a car coming from the other direction lost control and hit her car head on.
Apparently I was knocked out and we were both taken to the hospital where we were both admitted. I woke on Tuesday evening to learn what had happened. Sheila was in critical condition, but is now in serious condition.
I was given a CT scan to make sure I didn't have any permanent brain/head damage or swelling. The hospital kept me until yesterday (Thursday) evening, when I was discharged as soon as the doctor gave the word and my foodie friend Sally picked me up. Thankfully she took my Christmas cards and tip-ins to the post office that stays open all night. I was still in too much pain to publish or visit anyone yesterday evening, but I am (and will be) doing so today.
Once again I'm joining Michelle of RaspberryBlueSky and Tamara of MaraKreativStudio and their Art Journal Advent Calendar for 2024. You will find their calendars on Instagram, but you will only find mine on my blog.
Day17: Awareness. Image from the internet that I colored from green to bright red using crayons.
In case you missed any, Days 1 through 4 can be found here. Days 5 through 8 can be found here. Days 9 through 12 can be found here. Days 13 through 16 can be found here.
Just four more days to go and Art Advent 2024 will be over. I will still need to create a front and back cover and bind them together.
Thanks for continuing with me on this 24 day advent adventure. I appreciate your visit
and encouraging comments. I hope you like how I interpret some of the
prompts. Which, if any, of these prompts were your favorite?

...Elizabeth, enjoy the remaining days as you countdown to Christmas.
I am so sorry to read this and hope your neighbour will be ok. Visit blogs when and only when you are well enough.
Huge and gentle cyber hugs.
Oh my gosh, that's a terrible experience. I hope you're doing OK. Are you hoping 2024 will be over so you can start with a fresh new year? I hope your neighbor will be OK too. And as for your art, I haven't had dinner yet so that dip platter looks so tasty. And That's a lovely summer photo of Quebec City. I bet it doesn't look like that now, and I bet its also cold there too. Have a super weekend. hugs-Erika
I am so sorry about the accident Elizabeth so glad you survived this accident.
OMGosh! So sorry to hear this! Glad you are okay and I hope your neighbor will be, too. What a shock!
Elizabeth, so sorry to hear about the accident,I am glad you are home and doing ok but take care and be sure to look after yourself. Hope your neighbour recovers too.
Oh, Elizabeth, what a terrible ordeal. I'm so sorry to hear this -- and so grateful that you are now home, although I suspect you'll be a little wobbly for a bit, and it sounds like still in a good bit of pain. I hope you can just take it very easy as the holidays continue and that you have someone (Sally, maybe?) to help you as these recovery days can be tough. Sending many good thoughts and get well wishes your way and for Sheila, too.
Stopped by to wish you a happy Christmas.
OMG! I am so sorry to hear about the accident. I hope your neighbor is doing better. I'm glad to hear you are home and hopefully can take things slow and easy while you recover. I'm glad you have Sally to help you out. Take care.
Oh dear. So sorry to hear about the accident. Must have been a shock to wake up in the hospital. I do hope you are feeling better now. Now is the time to recover and I hope you heal soon.
Terrible ordeal for you and your neighbour. I do hope she will be okay too.
Take Care, Elizabeth.
PHEW. See, that is why I don´t want to be in a car anymore!!!! Great you are well. How horrible. To find this on Christmas Eve (in Germany 24th). But in the end happy news and great art! Merry Christmas!
Dear Elizabeth, OMG! That was a shocking experience! You happen to be sitting in the car of your not-so-well-known neighbor, and it happens to be hit by another car. What a terrible interplay of fate... Fortunately, you seem to have gotten off fairly lightly. I'm sorry that your neighbor's condition is serious, I hope she recovers soon.
Sorry that I've only just come to read your post. As you know, I'm taking a break from blogging and am currently not spending much time on the Internet.
I hope you have / had a good Christmastime and I wish you a good start to 2025! Best wishes, Traude

I just read this, as I took a bit of a blogging break during the holidays. Hope you and your neighbor are on the road to recovery from the accident and have no health issues remaining from it. Looking forward to blogging and visiting your T Party in 2025.
