I am so grateful you stopped by today. I am giving thanks that you stopped by to celebrate with me.
Happy Thanksgiving to those who live in the USA and observe the holiday. Happy Thursday to all my international friends.
This is the day when families gather to give thanks.
Prayer, in the form of grace is often given before the meal. Originally celebrated as a religious
holiday for giving thanks to God for helping the Pilgrims make it
through the first year at Plymouth Colony, Thanksgiving now includes
such events as the Presidential pardoning of two turkeys, the Macy's
Thanksgiving Parade, and a gathering of family for a traditional
Thanksgiving meal, making it one of the busiest travel days of the year.
Thanksgiving is also a celebration of the harvest and a day to watch a
favorite football team. That's AMERICAN football, not to be confused
with what we call soccer.
A look back at 2022, this is what you might be fixing today if you live in the States.
As you can tell, the turkey is the star of the show. And because the turkey has a face, I will be joining Nicole's Friday Face Off later tonight.
As some of you know, this is my favorite holiday of the year. There is no pressure to give gifts like on Christmas or Valentine's Day.
Today before anyone in the US is awake, I'm sending special thanks to my loyal internet friends, followers, and readers. In many ways, you have become my family.
Place heavy whipping cream in a food processor or stand mixer. Process for about 5 minutes. (It will go from liquid to whipped cream consistency and then start to look like crumbly butter.) Remove the excess water from the solid butter. Add the ice cold water and strain a second time. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse or beat for a few seconds to combine. Press onto saran wrap and roll into a log. Place in fridge for an hour to harden

The only stuffed bird on my holiday table is the one you see above.
There will, however, be pumpkin pie and hopefully some pumpkin bread topped with pumpkin spice butter. I have included the pumpkin spice butter recipe below.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons ice water
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it and happy Thursday to my international friends.

HAPPY THANKSGVIING.
What is in pumpkin spice. It is not something I have ever seen here?
Happy Thanksgiving Elizabeth, your stuffed Turkey is a fine centre piece.
Your meal sounds delicious, enjoy your day and take care Tracey x
Some churches here have a mini-"Thanksgiving". It´s, as far as I know but some deco and a prayer.
It´s sad we don´t have this holiday.
I sure will never mix up soccer and (American) Football.
Gifts we only give when we see something the other might love, not to fixed dates.
I´m wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving and I agree... this is a family! You sure helped me through not such fun times and there is always encouragement I am very thankful for.
...Elizabeth, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
I like your stuffed bird. That is a cool decoration. I am sure the pIlgrims wouldn't recognize our modern Thankgivings at all. They probably wouldn't recognize much in our modern world. But Thanksgiving is still a wonderful holiday. I think my favorite too. Have a lovely day my friend. hugs-Erika (ps- I made pumpkin pie the other day, and it's actually the first time I've made an old fashioned one. I hope everyone enjoys it and it tastes OK. Smile.)
Lovely post, happy Thanksgiving!

Happy weekend xx
I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with love and good food. Mine was delightful.
I have made butter one time - and it was an accident. I was trying to make whipped cream but I wanted it very stiff. Ha ha. I learned my lesson.
Lovely Thanksgiving collages!
