Friday Smiles 329: My mountain

It's Friday, which means it's time to join Friday Smiles, hosted by Annie (at A Stitch in Time).  Let's visit Annie and the other wonderful ladies who also share their smiles each Friday.

Yesterday I showed a sneak peek of my mountain.

It isn't pretty and it is disruptive.

You can see the bricks that normally surround my "Flower Bed" have been moved.

After about a week of seeing the eyesore, here is what I saw last week.

There was a great deal of noise which drew me (and my camera) outside.

This man is standing in a hole

which was dug by the gas company that supplies natural gas to my home.

The rest of the line has been replaced,

but the hole (and consequently the mountain) is still there.  And now there are tons of leaves covering both my yard and the mountain.

The line has been replaced and the rest of the block's "mountains" have been covered.  Not so here!

They also nearly destroyed the art in my wheelbarrow.  On a brighter note, I hope the company will replace the tulips and hostas that were there before they buried them.

I have a few funnies for you today.  I hope they make you smile.

I hope those of you who have experienced life with a teen, can find a bit of humor in these.  Thanks ever so much for visiting this Friday.  Bleubeard and I would love to see you at Friday Smiles, too.

I must have missed an earlier post but it looks as though they are working on the gas supply all along your road. Theyt certainly aren't being very careful so I do hoe they put it all back as it was eventually.
Having brought up five teenage boys over a period of many years, (my oldest hit 13 in 1984, and youngest left his teens in 2007!), I have seen habits and attitudes change, but only two of my boys gave me any real problems during their teens, but I have to say, I am glad I don't have a teen at home now! Yippee for such workers. Not.
LOL on the 13 yr olds! Does a Brother count? Then I have experience with a teen ;-)
To Smiles, have a great Friday (and don´t look at the mountain)...

I do hope the mountain is cleared. And not by you.
Thanks for the smiles.

What a mess....I really hope they put it right for you. Your funnies made me chuckle because I remember it well and of course the joke is now on my 'children' as their children reach the teens lol
Hugs,

I am afraid the gas company won’t be very nice about restoring your flower beds. I’ve never known the utility companies to do more than leave a pile of dirt. I hope things are different where you live. The local gas company here replaced our gas line a few years ago, but didn’t need to dig up the yard. However, they changed the location where it came into the house, which meant we had several hundred dollars worth of work to do on the gas pipes indoors (I can’t remember the details of what we had to do)! So I wish you luck.

Well, that is QUITE the mountain. I'm sure you want it over and done with NOW. Good luck with the utility company -- I never got the replacement of the hydrangea they killed when doing mandated tree work in the yard. Maybe your guys are better -- I hope so! What a mess to have to see every day.

Not to be a Gretchen Sunshine, but I don't think the gas company will replace your flower bed. I hope they will at least spread the mountain out and not leave it there for you to do.

I was hoping the mountain was for something good, like maybe putting in a new garden. I'm sure the gas line is an improvement, BUT what a mess. I hope it all gets put back to normal for you, and those bulbs that went missing or were destroyed get replaced. I'm sure it won't be exactly what you had though because they always seem to leave more work for the homeowner. But what can you do about it? I hope next week we get to see big improvements. Hi Elizabeth, I thought you had a massive Mole living in your garden! However, I hope they warned you of the work they were doing it's a bit naughty if they didn't. It annoys me at times that work men think what they are doing is more important than than other people's belongings. Love the teenage jokes, brilliant! Take care and have a restful weekend. Hello my friend. I'm trying to get back to some sort of normalcy with my foot. I will be back to the T party this week. Interesting photos of your yard. I love the funnies. I need laughter these days. I hope you link these up with FFO and have a great weekend.

I hope your mountain is gone soon and they replace your flowers.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I do hope the mountain will be cleared for you.
This time of year there are so many leaves falling, it's a never ending task.

Many thanks for the smiles.

All the best Jan

What a mess! If your utility replaces your plants they do more than ours ever has.

Oh what a mess indeed! A giant Mr Mole is living in your garden. Not funny though. They buried some of your plants and nearly your wheelbarrow too. Not very considerate. I hope they put it back, but to be honest, I doubt they will do that.
My (step)children were teenagers when I married Graham, so not an easy age. And some teenage behaviours continued well into their twenties.
Because I recognised a lot I really laughed at the funnies.
Hugs,
Lisca
