It's For The Birds

Today I have another page for Valerie's theme Anything Goes at Art Journal Journey.

I call this For the birds.  Since these birds have faces, tonight I'll also be joining Nicole and her Friday Face Off.  I even have a few detail shots.

The sentiment reads Redbirds, Bluebirds, Blackbirds.  I cropped the page a bit too much, so the words are hard to read.

I made a similar entry a few years ago, but I believe I used a circle punch at that time and this time I used a MS squiggly circle punch.  I first colored the 110 lb cardstock background using Staz-on reinkers and 91% isopropyl alcohol. While it was drying, I punched and punched and punched until I was sure my right hand would fall off (slight exaggeration).  Next I laid down the washi tape for the birds to stand on.  Then I glued all the bird faces to the substrate.  Next, I added all the legs, wings, and faces using red, blue, black, and white gel pens.  I used those same pens to write the sentiment (see above).

Thanks for stopping by today.  Bleubeard and I hope you enjoy your weekend.  While you're here, please hop over to Art Journal Journey and Friday Face Off.

I remember when you made these birds before, and they are just as cute this time around. I love how happy they all are, probably because it is spring. You should also link them up to TIOT because they work for our latest challenge. I hope your week is going well my friend. hugs-Erika

This journal page of stacked birds is a delight, Elizabeth! I was smiling the minute I saw the thumbnail for your post. That Washi tape platform helps give them whimsical personalities.

Your little birds are so cute and I love them all. Great idea to use the washi tape for them to be grounded.
