UPDATE: I'm
having trouble leaving comments. I keep gettin "Failed to Publish." If
you don't hear from me right away, that is why!!
It's Friday, which means it's once again time to join Friday Smiles, hosted by Annie (at A Stitch in Time). Let's visit Annie and the other wonderful ladies who also share their smiles each Friday. If you are looking for Friday Face Off, it is here. All photos were taken by me this week.
I try not to buy anything for myself because I believe I have enough "stuff." However, I have my dear friend Mia to blame for sending me the pink Posca pen you have seen me use several times since she sent it. I know lots of mixed media and collage artists use them in their art and mark making. As a result, while my dear friend Joseph was staying here (in Wichita) from California, he ordered this set of four for me. I refuse to order anything on the internet because I am deathly afraid of being hacked. I don't believe I have the electronic protection that many have.
My dear friend and co-administrator at Art Journal Journey, Valerie, sent me a date stamp in 2019. Unfortunately it was only good through 2022.
Even though you probably can't read it (I should have removed it from the packaging before I photographed it), I have through December, 2032 before I have to buy a new stamp. What I spent on these two items is nearly all my allowed craft allowance this year and I am only on February. I hope I can stay away from these impulse buys the rest of 2023!
Now for a few funnies.
Just so you know, I've never had a cat knock anything off a table. But that might be because my cats don't climb (except on the bed where they are encouraged to snuggle with me). Now, PLEASE visit Annie and don't forget to start your weekend with a smile.
15 thoughtful remarks:
Lots to smile about with your new stash and I chuckled at the funnies. Just to let your know...no I havent [I'd never get back up after!!].
Hugs,
Annie x
Lots of fab funnies, thanks for the laughs. Posca pens are really good, I love them! Hugs, Valerie
I love my Posca pens. The fine ones are particularly good for making small dots on top of other colours.
Sadly I do have one cat who likes to knock things onto the floor for the fun of it, but he doesn't do it too often. The kitty managed to knock down a ceramic table lamp this week but it asn't deliberate. he just isn't very good at judging his own space yet. They are all good for a smile now and then though. Kate x
Cool goodies!
I need to throw out stuff from my beginning with you that another beginners might need (once the nasty weather stops!).
Cards for humans, LOL! Throw-up Thursday!!!
Oh, yes, the "0ld people" - in villages, we had one... He never greeted, just watched from the open door. Creepy. Why not greet back?!
We had Groundhog day on Wednesday (meeting with the translation company).
Now really - is this all true about cats?
Lucky you with the not knocking off, but the rest?
I bet you will love having these new paint pens. I didn't think I needed any either until I tried one and then I had to order myself a set off of Amazon. They are very useful. And your funnies today are another set of good ones. The Throw-up Thursday one made me laugh out loud. Have a great end of your weekend and start to your weekend my friend. hugs-Erika
Posca pens are so cool!
All the cats I've had in my life I have never had one who knocked things off tables or counters, either. In fact they could delicately walk around and over things so as not to knock them down. :)
Thanks for the laughs
Very cool stuff and awesome funnies. 😺
I know it's good to be self disciplined and only use recycled stuff, but an occasional indulgence is not going to kill anyone. I don't know the pens you have bought but everyone is raving about them. So: good for you!
The cat funnies are great. I love the 'throw up Thursday'.
Have a lovely weekend,
hugs,
Lisca

Hi Elizabeth, going to be quick tonight as it's late. We've been out most of the day banking and then shopping and it's only now that I've found time to switch the laptop on. That looks like a great set of goodies you have there. How kind of Joseph to order those for you. He can stay at my house any time Lol! Loving the funnies too. Who ever wrote them certainly knows cats and dogs. Wishing you a very happy weekend. Hugs, Angela xxx
You have great friends.
Jinx would knock things off the table.. He LOVED to do so. But never anything important or heavy or breakable i'm pleased to say.. He loved bottle caps or bread ties or the rings off the milk jug. He 'never' got on my counters either.. or at least he knew better than to let me see him up on the counters..lol Hugs! deb
oh, new art supplies! glorious! Loved the cartoons, and I'll end this by knocking everything to the floor!

You are no more in danger of being hacked by ordering from a trusted source online than you are by paying for items or services in person. My mother had a credit card receipt altered at a local restaurant, a FB friend had a check altered to a higher amount and then cashed by someone else, a doctor's office had a staff person that stole credit card #s... I could go on... The cases are countless. You have to be careful any time you don't pay cash. And even then, well, your cash could be stolen. Sometimes I think online ordering is _safer_ since actual people don't see your card number or handle your check. I was glad when they started offering the https for security in ordering online. I try to be careful in all my transactions, but the dangers aren't only about being online.
But, as they say, "You do you." We have to each do our own research and due diligence and determine our own comfort level.
I love your use of the calendar page. There are fewer paper calendars out there now, but the pages are gorgeous!
