Trudy's Flower Shop

If you are looking for Monday Murals, I will be back with those on March 6.  For now, Bleubeard and I are hosting Art Journal Journey this month.  Our theme is What's Your Style?

My style today is approved by Bleubeard who loves flowers.

We're off to visit Trudy's Flower Shop.

I used lots of embellishments to create this page.  I've provided a few detail shots, too.

I was so lucky to find a sheet of scrapbook paper in my stash that seems to have matched the beautiful dry embossed embellishments that went so well with the paper.  I'm sure the embellishments were more than likely laser cut because of the detailed cutting around each flower and the embossed frame.  Each flower is lovely and I spent a good bit of time fitting them on the house, which I cut from the scrapbook paper.  As for the frame, I started the words in the center and the middle, but I somehow got off the center of the frame the further I got from the middle.

I'm not quite sure what my style is today, but I enjoyed cutting the house and decorating it with the beautiful flowers.

Bleubeard wants everyone to know it was his idea to name the flower shop.  I have no idea where the name Trudy came from, but it must be a secret friend Bleubeard has that he hasn't told me about.  Regardless, we are thrilled you stopped by today.  Please also join us at Art Journal Journey where we're asking What's Your Style?

Just on time, bitter-sweet. I had to dump my Birthday flowers. Some still looked good but, ewwwww, the bad smell, they secretly rotted away.
Your work looks so fresh :-)
Bleubeard had a good idea!

This is an interesting piece. I love how you went more abstract in the fact that we'd have to guess it was Trudy's Flower shop if you didn't tell us. It is quite an interesting piece, and perfect for your style challenge. Its very cold here this AM, at -10 degrees F. BBBBBBRRR. Hope you're warmer so you have some melt. Hugs-Erika

That design reminds me of old and faded wall paper that one sometimes sees in houses that have not been changed in decades. I used to love to go into such houses when they were for sale or a having moving sale after the same family had lived there since the house was built. Our neighborhood dates to the 1920s, so I think that type of pattern is from around 100 years ago.

I can't resist stopping by a flower shop - even in Paris last year I had the opportunity to go inside one to buy a gift for someone. Trudy's looks to have the best of flowers. Hugs, Chris

Love your flower home and what better way to create a home but with flowers. I like the cut outs of the flowers placed on top too. By the way, I hope the unwanted drama subsides for you.
