T Stands For Chinese New Year

Today we're at my dining room table celebrating Chinese New Year.

These are a traditional oriental tea cup and tea bag or spoon holder, along with a matching tray for small snacks.

I thought I would show all sides of this cup.

This shows the back side of these two matching pieces.  Apparently the pieces are marked such that you can easily tell what items go with which pieces.

Now it's time to share your favorite drink with us this week.  Remember the rules are simple.  A drink, any drink can be represented by art (digital, hybrid, or traditional), a cup, mug, teapot, etc.  Maybe you'll share a scrapbook page, or a favorite movie or book that focuses on a drink.  And drinks don't have to be water, coffee, or tea.  You can always go off the grid and drink something we may not have heard of.  All you have to do is link below (direct links only, please), so we can visit you, too.  And Bleubeard wants to remind you these photos or scans can be taken at any time, not just on Tuesday or not even this month, if you prefer.

I know it's very late, but I'm hoping this very short notice gives you time to dig up your Second on the 2nd.  I apologize for being so late with this reminder, but time has slipped away from me this month.  In case you are unfamiliar with it, you can show any post or art you choose.  The only requisite is it must have been published sometime in the past.  Just to let you know, we will be using Inlinkz for February because some people tend to show up for T on Wednesday and if I used Mr. Linky, the T Tuesday link would be invalid on Wednesday.  I'm genuinely hoping we have a record Second look turnout in February.  I sincerely hope you will join in.

Hi Elizabeth-I love your tea set-it is really lovely I have a few Japanese pieces I really enjoy using too. Is this big winter storm coming your way too? Part of Missouri could get 15 inches of snow-hoping that's not us smiles.
I will be later posting-after our friends left to go back home to Wisconsin I saw the winter storm watch and figured I better get to the grocery store before the temps start dropping tomorrow

The dragons on your tea cup are very nice. I think dragons play a role in the celebrations. I hope you enjoy some Chinese treats and good-luck foods for an amusing Lunar New Year celebration. As I said about your earlier post, I hope the new year is good for you.

This is such a lovely set, Elizabeth. I had never seen one with a snack tray, too. I used to have a little brown Asian teapot. It is one I gave away. Stay warm over there this week.

What an exquisite little tea set. I love the beautiful dragons. I wonder what the spoon was used for. Surely it’s too big to stir with.
You also have a snack tray. How special is that!
Thanks for showing me your pretty things.
I’m sorry I can’t do a Second on the second as I’m not at my own computer.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

That's a beautiful set, Elizabeth. I had brought a few pieces from Taiwan when I lived there in the early 80's. By now they're all gone... But I still have my memories. It's the year of the tiger - my daughter is a tiger, so I hope this year will be especially good for her. She needs it, she is supposed to finish her masters this year. Happy T day!

Those are beautiful Chinese tea pieces you're sharing. They are perfect for the Lunar New Year. And even more perfect for T day. Fun how the Chinese New Years falls on T day and you can share these. I hope the year of the Tiger is good to you. And have a super T day. hugs-Erika

It is sooo cool to have pieces specific to a holiday. Fun! It can set the mood without extra decorations :)

Happy T Tuesday

okay I tried to pick my fave but I seem to like all the art and dishes.
about the look of love... you break my heart too... love lost I've known that feeling several times. My friend Colette at the blog whataboutrheema lost her husband to a drunk driver. He kissed her one morning like any other, left for work and 10 min later a drunk hit him and he was gone from her life. She is lovely, if you like I can ask her to email you, and I bet she would. In fact I'd like to email you instead of leaving comments... my email is Leeannaquilts at gmail dot com
love your art... glad you have those kitties...

What a beautiful tea set Elizabeth!
Happy T day!
I really like the bright and cheerful colours they have, red is very important for the Chinese New Year. And the red envelopes to give money are very nice, I have one, let's see if I show it in the next publication. For the new year, they usually give money in those red envelopes. I hope that this year of the Tiger will be a good year for everyone.
I wish you a good evening (where you live) and a very nice Wednesday,
sending big hugs, Caty
