T Stands For Drinks With My Friends

I want to apologize for all the photos.  I got a bit carried away, and yet, you have no idea how many of these I didn't include.

Today I'm joining my friends Joseph, his two sons, and Scott on my back patio.  You can see this is before I placed the black plastic on the ground to cover and smother the bamboo that is trying to return with a vengeance.

Initially the table on the patio was in full sun, so Scott moved the extra two chairs I had cleaned for the Neighborhood Night Out event, but never put back, to a shady spot under the trees.

It didn't take long until Joseph's oldest was out back with Scott.

I had to lighten the image so you could see both of them.

I realized all I had to do was move a bit closer

and I didn't have to lighten the images at all.

Bored, he left his water bottle on the chair and went chasing after his brother

who didn't seem too excited to join him.

Joseph doesn't seem to mind the sun.  Note everyone is drinking water in those containers.

I kept hoping the house would soon shade the table,

so we would all be out of the sun.

I love this photo of Joseph's youngest.  Look at those eyes!

Then they decided to join Scott by the back fence.

Scott had found some berries he thought were poisonous, so he looked them up on the internet.

By this time it was nap time for the youngest.

However, when Joseph decided to put him down for a nap, he got his second wind.

Scott was telling a story in which the boys became engrossed.

Just in case there weren't enough drinks showing, I actually captured my ugly Wichita State mug.

Then Scott showed the boys how to play a game he had found on the internet.  It was similar to Rock-Paper-Scissors, but with a twist.  Then the boys both showed their karate skills while the three of us adults talked.  I actually forgot to take any photos at that point.

One final bit of humor you might appreciate.  Note the phones.  Scott has two since he moved to a different city that doesn't have the same carrier as he has here in Wichita.  Joseph's is on the left.  I'm the only one without a cell phone (still).

It's now time to share your own drink inspired post this week.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

Elizabeth, it looks like you had a fun day. I know what you mean about devices. When our kids come visit, there are several laptops, electronic tablets, and phones, besides ours! I often wonder how much more our wifi can take when they are here! LOL Happy T Day dear friend.

It's great to see your friends out in your yard. Those boys are adorable, and I'm with you with that photo of Joseph's youngest's eyes. Great photo! It looks like you had a great visit that day (and I am sure most other days while they were visiting.) Thanks so much for sharing these. It was a pleasure to see them. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

a well spent day with good friends and young ones outdoors in the garden and sun! The boys are so sweet and listening very attentively to Scott:)
I can say that having a cell phone has been a great help so many times for both myself and hubby- especially for travel, road conditions, flat tires, etc. Wouldn't go back now that we went down that rabbit hole:):):)
Happy T day!

Glad you got to spend some time with your friends, Elizabeth. Covid has made us appreciate any time with friends and mamily - time we maybe took for granted before.

I can't believe you don't have a cell phone - I am proud of you though!

Hugz and Happy T-day!

I'm the guilty device person! I never travel without my phone and laptop for a night away. At least I never pull out my very expensive digital camera any longer as well as my phone does great photos. I use my phone for everything, even to read on.

How lovely to see you and your friends enjoying a bit of together time. And great that Joseph allowed you to post photos of the children. I totally agree on the little one's eyes. He will be a heartbreaker when he grows up.
Nice to see Scott too. He features often in your blogposts but we don't see much of him.
Cell phones? I think it would be helpful to you to get one, even if it is just for emergencies. Perhaps someone will give you their old one. (And then you have to remember to keep it charged of course.) When there is no power, usually the mobile phone network still works, also when traveling by car and something happens away from home. It could be something banal as a flat tyre... Have Scott help you to put some emergency numbers on it (His on top!)
Anyway, I am not telling you what to do of course, but it is just my advice.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs (also for your 'boys'),
Lisca

I know you're all happy to have had this time together.

(I lost track of my days of the week again this week. I had a colonoscopy and now my husband is prepping for one. At least it'll be 10 years 'til the next one.)
