T Stands For Swap Explained

On July 12th or 13th, depending on what day you link, we will celebrate our eighth anniversary at T Stands For Tuesday.

This is last year's ATCs.  If you were here last year, you probably received one.

The only reason I'm sharing these is because I have nothing else to share today.  Today the focus is on the dreaded RULES.

You only need to make ONE ATC unless you want to make one for yourself.  When you have completed your ATC, be sure to take a photo or scan of it.  Do NOT share it on your blog.

Ideas for the theme of the ATC could be a drink, cups, mugs, bottles, the number 8, or anything with a positive message.

We will have a pay it forward type swap.  You do NOT have to join the swap.  NO ONE will think any less of you if you don't or can't.  We'll totally understand.  The rules are easy.  IF you are planning to send an ATC:

1.  Have the ATC you plan to exchange ready to go.
2.  When you link, be sure to add an asterisk (*) after your name if you are sending an ATC.
3.  The next person on the list whose name has an asterisk (*) after it will be the person you send your ATC to.  It's called Pay-It-Forward.  Contact that person either on their blog or through e-mail to get their mailing address.
4.  The person with an asterisk (*) after it whose name is before yours will contact you for your mailing address.
5.  Since you want your ATC participant to be surprised, please don't show your ATC until you know your recipient has received it.  We'll have a reveal party on the 26th/27th.
6.  If you receive an ATC from me, please wait for the reveal party to show it.
7.  If you are NOT making an ATC for the swap, add your name only without an asterisk.
8.  Please send your ATC as soon as possible after you learn your P.I.F. partner's address, but no later than the end of the week (17 July).

Words can be a bit confusing for those who have never experienced a Pay-It-Forward swap before.  Here is an example:

Sue*
Ann
Mary
Jean*
Lisa*
Joy
Cary*

Sue sends to Jean, since Ann and Mary are not exchanging ATCs.  Jean sends to Lisa.  Lisa sends to Cary.  Cary sends to Sue and the circle is complete.

Sue will contact Jean to get her address.  Jean will contact Lisa, etc.  Is it clearer now?  If NOT, ask in comments, PLEASE.

These are the people who said they would participate.  In no particular order they are:
Chris
Mia
Erika
Sharon
CJ
Iris
Nancy
Kokopelli

If I missed anyone, please let me know. I've updated the list. It's OK to use the asterisk until the day of the swap.  The reason there are two dates (12/13) for the swap it's because of those pesky time zones.  When it is 4 p.m. in Wichita, KS., it is already tomorrow in Australia, parts of Russia, and Japan.

It's now time to share your own drink inspired post this week.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

I realize there's not much time left, but it's time to dig up your second look on the 2nd.  The idea is, share a post you have shown before.  The only requirement is it must have been published sometime in the past.

Owwwww.... too late!!!
Just yesterday, as I did not ... I´m always too fast / I have no patience :-(
I sent mine on the way to you and it says June, too!
I´m sorry!!! I put the * on the card. Please... just burn it - I tried!!!
Oh, shoot! Me.
Now I understand.
Well, or see it as a Birthday-greeting to you. I skip the * hence here.
Mimimi, do I feel dumb.

Thank you for explaining, Elizabeth.
By mistake, I added an asterisk now!!!
Of course, I will add it on the post when you make that post.

Sorry I had to do two links as I linked up before I read the rules - I will learn my lesson sometime - lol! I have my ATC ready and I am excited!!!! It is my first ATC Swap and I have done a swap of any kind in years. Should be fun to get an ATC from one of the great artists in your circle, Elizabeth. Love your ATCs fro last year. Happy T day! Hugz

Hi Elizabeth, not sure, if it's still time to participate in the swap, but I really would love to. I was absent for some time, as life got in the way. I put an asterisk behind my name just in case, but if I understand correctly (Sorry, foreign speaker here!), we have to put it behind our names on July 12th/13th. Glad to be back and join in the fun and meet some fellow artists. :)

That is a clear explanation. As I mentioned before, I won't be participating this year. Perhaps next year....
Has it been 8 years already? Time flies!
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Have fun in the swap! A note for you from your comment on my blog- Once the boho bead is dry on the core straw or lollipop stick, you trim the core material away at each end even with the bead. Now you have the bead with a stable core and a hole through it. You then cut a length of wire (I use about 20 or 22 gauge), form a closed loop on one end (I'll call it bottom), add a couple of decorative end beads, feed the wire up through the boho bead and add more beads to the other end (call it top). Then close the loop on the top and trim off excess wire. Hope that helps clarify.

oohoo this looks like fun Elizabeth! I haven't joined in with T for Tuesday in many years as I left Blogland to Walk dogs! It was great fun but age and health has caught me up! Now that I'm back, I'd love to join in. I hope my Hot chocolate cup will be okay instead of tea!
