Rain's Thursday Art Date: Cake

It's been awhile since I joined Rain's for her Thursday Art Date.  This week, the theme is Cake.

I could only find one spread that fit the bill this week.

Although it's hard to see the cake behind the recycled security envelope windows,

there's a plethora of different types of cake at this party.

It appears all the children are having a wonderful time, sharing cake and playing games,

while the child's father has grown impatient with the party.

I have very little to contribute this week.  I'm sure others will have more to offer.  I look forward to seeing how each of the participants handle this theme.  This art journal entry was created by me.  Bleubeard is looking for cake, which sadly he'll only find on paper.

Thank you so very much for stopping by today.  I am truly grateful to you, my friends, followers, readers, and lurkers for visiting.  Please also join me at Rain's Thursday Art Date.

Clever art, sometimes last minute spontaneous gets the best results! I like it.

Fun party pictures, lots of cake. Why are men so often impatient? Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

That's a great funny party cake page and the impatient dad and the happy children had to laugh so much! Nice that you took part in Rain'thema again. It doesn't always have to be that much.
I wish you a good day, hug Elke

There's nothing so decadent as a layer cake, especially a chocolate layer cake!

All the cakes look delicious, and cake for breakfast should be more of a thing ;) It'd go well with my coffee :)

I recently read Maira Kalman’s great “Cake” book, and she has great images of cakes, along with some recipes. Great art theme!

Well cake is not good for Bleubeard, so Mom needs to find him a more appropriate treat :) It has been years since I attended a birthday party, but if my memory serves me right, I always enjoyed the cake ... not so much the games. Never was good at games ... :( Glad to see you again ... you were missed :)

These are some wonderful images -- perfect for the theme, Elizabeth. And thanks for the info I asked for -- I'll try to get it out this week!

That looks like quite a fun party on your page today. Those retro cakes look yummy too. Dad does look a bit impatient, but maybe he feels he should have gotten his piece of cake first. I like this spread and those fun vintage photos. And I like the story about Bear and Dog you mentioned in your comment on my post today. Animals definitely build attachments too, don't they? Hope it was a good day. Hugs-Erika

A happy page. Cake is the best. Ink was fond of a crumb of yellow cake. He liked a lick of vanilla ice cream, too.
