What's On Your WorkDesk Wendy: a second look and a current look

I had another post already scheduled for today, until I learned about this incredible event that was about to take place.  My dear friend and host of WOYWW, Julia of Stamping Ground is celebrating her 600th week of blog hopping voyeurs deskers.  There's NO WAY I could pass up this once in a lifetime event that spans 11 years of sharing our desks each week.  Although I don't often join in anymore, I can't pass up this post, even though it intersects with my monthly Second on the 2nd.

Here is a portion of my original post, which was first published on June 2, 2010.  It's now my Second on the 2nd post.

For those of you who don't know her, please meet WOYWWendy, or Wendy for short.  Wendy was born just in time for the very first WOYWW anniversary. (EDIT: She doesn't look too bad for being 11 years of age.)

For the first anniversary, here's what Julia proposed:
And don't forget the Week 52 First Year Anniversary Challenge. WOYWWAC. You don't have to have contributed a desk every week for a year to join - it's just a bit of fun! Make something lovely to enhance your work space......desktop, wall, floor, whatever! The challenge is to include the famous letters WOYWW on it somehow somewhere. How hard can it be?
My desk looks bland, but I created some WOYWW clothes pins and Wendy, who I created from scraps and a face I stamped.

To show I was out of my comfort zone, I even stamped the dragonflies and flowers, as well as stenciling the letters onto a pillowcase I cut down that I could use as a dust cover for my sewing machine.

Now it's time to share your own Second on the 2nd.  The rules are quite simple and everyone is welcome to join the fun look back.  All you have to do is bring back a post that you are especially proud of, or perhaps one you shared before anyone knew your blog existed.  Any post, any genre, any artistic endeavor is acceptable, as long as it's been published sometime in the past.  Then link below (direct links only, please) and Bleubeard and I, along with other Second on the 2nd friends, will be by to visit.   However, please only link if you are here for the Second on the 2nd.

DO NOT LINK if you are only visiting from Julia's blog, but please leave your number so I can find you easily.

______________________________________________________________________

Now let's check out my desk today.

This is what my desk looked like at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.  I've started working on a few Christmas gifts, so didn't bother straightening up.  What you see is what I'm working on.

Of course, I stacked the wood pieces, even though one was still rather wet with ink, and brought Wendy out front and center. I also chose an obligatory rocking horse, which I'm sure is why some people visit during this Wednesday romp.

And on my sewing "desk"

I'm sewing Lutrador.

I've taken up enough of your time today, so won't keep you any longer.  Please remember, if you are here for Second on the 2nd, please link as you normally would.  If you are here because you came from Julia's link, please leave a comment only so I know you dropped by.  Now let's join Julia for the 600th time (for many of you).

Well, we meet again but this time via WOYWW and the 600th edition of Julia's blogathon. Gosh Elizabeth you took me back there with the picture of Wendy, not seen her in a long time and I remember you making that dust cover. Happy memories, along with those of the photographs of the many rocking horses you have shown to us.
Have a lovely day, a lovely week and more.
Hugs to you and Bleubeard

DO you know I had forgotten all about the first anniversary of WOYWW. I knew I must have made something, but for the life of me couldn't remember what! Your little Wendy made me look and I actually made a banner! Thanks for the touch of nostalgia!
It was great to see your space again.
Many thanks to Julia and Happy WOYWW 6oo!

It’s so lovely to see your name on the Linky list today Elizabeth! What a lovely post, Wendy was already around when I joined in the weekly madness so I hadn’t know about her back story. She is doing very well for 11, a testament to her making, I think! Hope you are keeping well and safe,

Well, I showed my "broken", ugly desk just yesterday for your T-day, but I look and find perhaps something to join you with this, too. 600 peeks, a fun idea, I like showing the honest stuff.

Oh Elizabeth, you I didn’t have to hijack your second on the second so comprehensively! it’s lovely to see you, pleased to see how well Wendy has fared! I’m a little overwhelmed by it all really, because as the weeks go by, you sort of lose track and just get on with it, huh! Of course you’re making gifts, I shall have to keep an aye, that stack of wooden pieces already looks incredibly interesting!

I’m just commenting that I love WENDY! I’m hoping you will make more dolls, enough that it becomes a comfort zone!

Hi Elizabeth, happy 600th WOYWW- it is lovely to catch up with you again. I have seen Wendy and rocking horses in many of your posts over the last few years since I joined. It is a lovely group to be part of. Thanks for stopping by my blog - I have never mastered the art of knitting, crochet will suffice for me - I thought I was too old to learn even that, so am quite made up that I can manage it - slowly! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #25

Great to see you, Elizabeth. I don't remember Wendy but it's good to see her, too, and of course a rocking horse - I have missed those. Thank you for visiting, and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my needle books. The kitties have grown and are now great fat lumps when they are on me - Lily always lies on my ankles and squashes my feet and makes them ache with the weight of her! Together they weigh over a stone. They've really taken over the new furniture.

Happy WOYWW 600,

Oh I hadn't realized it was WOYWW's 600th anniversary. I joined for several years, then stopped as the group had become so enormous, I couldn't cope with so many.
I must say Wendy doesn't look her age at all!

Very cool post. I love the items you have created in the past for the WOYWW weekly visits. It is so wonderful to see so many people have years invested in posting their work areas with Miss Julia. I have some years, but not as many as most. Happy week! Dorlene #41
