T Stands For From The Archives

I'm fairly certain I know why this entry landed in my archives file.

It covers the day my foodie friend Sally and I went back to Big Larry's.

Initially I wasn't feeling the love for this place, because it was Sally's idea and it has the word "burgers" in the restaurant's name.   As an aside, yes, that's my arms and hand reflected in the photo.  I photo bombed my own self.

I have no photos of our food or even drink choices (which was water for both Sally and myself), but there are enough Pepsi and Pepsi related drink references everywhere you look

to more than compensate seeing a styrofoam cup filled with ice water.

Wouldn't it be nice to get an ice cold soda for 10 cents?

The first time I was here, I took photos of both sides of the hallway walls leading to the restrooms.  I decided not to do it again.

There were also drinks shown on the menu and all shakes are apparently half price after 8 p.m..  I wonder if that is still true.  BTW, Sally got a double cheeseburger and I got cheese fries.  I wonder if their prices are still the same.

By now you more than likely know the rules.  Please share your own drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

The prices on the ads in the restaurant look good. A glass of mineral water in a restaurant here costs at least 2,00 €! Anyway, I think most of us are wining and dining at home just now! Happy T Day, stay safe, hugs, Valerie

Hamburgers are not a food I order at restaurants because Chris makes the best burgers I've ever had at home. So Big Larry's doesn't appeal to me either.

I know our reasons are different, but I wouldn't like your cheese fries either. Until/if this COVID horror is behind us, I guess we'll be seeing more of your choices for restaurants not worth visiting - lol.

Happy T-Day. Stay safe and well. Hugs, Eileen

I love hamburger joints that collect all kinds of old advertising posters, neon signs, and the like. Mostly I've seen them out west, such as the famous chile cheeseburger place in Hatch, NM.

be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com

Fun looking at all the memorabilia on the walls. I also love looking at old adverts in old magazines as well- the prices, the photos, and the selling descriptions!
We haven't gone out anywhere since our Cape May trip and that's fine by me. I enjoy cooking- AND I know what goes in it;)
Hope all is going well. Happy T day!

I've never had cheese fries, but I am always game for a burger. I haven't had one for quite awhile, so right now a burger, regular fries and a shake sounds tasty. Not that I am hungry as I just made a yummy omelet for dinner. I love all the vintage style signs and it looks like a fun burger place. Thanks for sharing. it was an enjoyable stop for T. Hugs-Erika

Enjoyed the burgers?

I looked this up and it is in Valley Center. Since my husband is Larry, we will have to stop in if the Pandemic doesn't get them! So sad the restaurants that are closing because of all of this. Happy T Day, Elizabeth!

Yum! We don't frequent many burger joints since we started counting calories but my favorite one to visit is Five Guys. I love that you can customize your own burger and that they make it right in front of you. Hopefully, you will be back to visit as soon as everything is back to normal.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

I would be happily entertained just looking at all the signs. I like the bright colors and the graphics.

I love all their signs. That's great about the half price shakes later on. I wonder -- hope it still is a thing.

You photobombed very decently and made me look for you!
Hm.I´ve never had cheese fries, never had even seen that! Sounds yummy!
Oh, and thank you for that earworm, I love that song (Wouldn´t it be nice") and the movie "50 first dates"!
Also love all those plates and signs - I´d walk right in and order, yum!

Great memorabilia on the walls there. 10cents for a drink is indeed unimaginable.
You commented that freshly squeezed orange juice is very expensive. It is here too, but my notion of expensive is probably very different. I paid 6,60 Euros for all of that. I think the juice cost more than the toast. I think it’s 2 euros for the juice. It’s more work of course having to juice the oranges.
I’m sorry you had problems getting into my blog. I am not at home. I had written my blog yesterday, I posted it at midnight using my phone and then I type out the address by hand. The ‘es’ is part of my address. Typing in my blog address should take you to my latest blog post. I don’t know why it doesn’t happen on your computer. Now I understand why you always insist on the address of that specific post.
To get the address of today’s page I have to pretend I am going to comment and then copy and paste the address on your blog. I don’t know how to do this on my phone, sorry.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

I’m not sure I would eat there but then again, I am not one for hamburgers and I am not supposed to eat the buns or fries...too much starch.

Ohhh I love places like this. All the old signs, and trying to have an atmosphere of days long gone. I hope the food was good. Enjoy your day.

I like these kinds of places -old-timey burger joints or burger joints with old-timey decor. I'd enjoy the food, I'm sure, and looking at all the decorations. Fun! Happy T Tuesday!

I admit that I would have been attracted because of the burgers(lol), but I love the pics you took of the place. I would definitely hang out there, or at the very least grab something to go. Hugs, RO

I just want to respond to your comment on my post.

The new computer should be under warranty; but we're afraid the warranty won't be honored here in Mexico. Once we get the data off the hard drive (since the service guys wiped the drive the first time we took it in), we'll give it a try. We bought it from Amazon Mexico.

I'm not a beef burger fan and that's all most burger places sell. I do like homemade veggie burgers and we occasionally buy pork and apple burgers to cook at home. Those old signs look interesting though! Hugs, Chrisx
