We could be friends

If you are seeing this comment, it means my power supply or cable has not been fixed or replaced.  I have internet, or at least I suspect I have, but I have no way to turn on my computer.  Thanks to my foodie friend Sally, I used her computer to post this and visit a few people Monday while I was there.  I'll be by to visit everyone else once I am up and running again.  Once I'm back online, this comment will go away.

I thought I would share another Art Journal Journey entry today using Jo's theme which is Texture.

It's fairly obvious where I got the title for today's post.

Yes, "We could be friends." This is some velum type deli paper which is heavier than you buy in the stores.

This is a hodge-podge of disparate scraps and leftovers from my stash.  Note I used some of CJ's watercolors she sent me to fill in certain areas and to outline what I'm calling the focal image.  And since Try it on Tuesday's latest challenge is Scraps, I knew I had to join these lovely ladies, too.

I added bits of texture, including burlap/hessian

and old wallpaper.

I even have a couple of gifted die cuts in the mix, as well as a tiny bit of green Christmas gift wrap.

On the right side of the spread, I have added an unused piece of cardstock I colored for a swap.  I added the two stenciled "A's," too.

Not sure how these got out of order, but you can really see the new watercolors I used.

For a bit of texture, I colored, then added the strip of paper removed from paper to be used in an ink jet daisy wheel printer.  In some spots on the page, I added water soluble crayons, too.

I used three different security envelope designs, too.

I actually created the background several months ago.  All I had to do was add the texture and the focal image, along with watercolors in time to finish the spread for today.

I think I explained everything as I shared each photo.  This is one way I have found to reduce my scraps and still get texture on the page.

I've actually just started working in this altered book and yet, it's already getting hard to close.  Wait a few more weeks and it will be half open, I suspect.

I'm really grateful you stopped by today. I hope to also see you at Try it on Tuesday and Art Journal Journey.

Glad you have a friend to help you out, but the title is wrong then, you are friends, right ;-)
Oh, do you remember the times we had no computer, no internet.
We had a bike. Skates, a skateboard (those tiny plastic ones). You could rent ice-skates and we did that.
I sometimes wonder what was better. Have bloody knees from falling or crying over lost internet (I do that, too!).
Hope you have it all back soon!!

Pretty page. I like the old-fashioned women in their bathing costumes. Ah, me still trying to hold on to Summer. It's good that Sally let you use her computer. Hope you get your computer back soon.

I really like all these layered scraps. They do make super texture. And this is also perfect for Try It on Tuesday. Thanks! I'm not sure if you want me to link you up as it is asking for email and won't let me switch out mine. I will link you up if you don't mind my email there. Hope you're back soon. Hugs-Erika

A fabulous page for both AJJ and TioT's challenge themes, I like the variety of scraps you were able to use on the pages. Its the sort of page that I wish computers had the means to reach out and touch.
I hope your internet gets sorted for you soon. Stay safe.

How annoying/frustrating/(and a million other words to describe how you must be feeling). You have had such bad luck of late with the computer - thank goodness for your friend and her computer helping out.
Lovely page and I adore those two women. They are so just right for this page with it's many textures and patterns.
I do hope this state of affairs does not last long for you. Sending gentle hugs - and tickles for your two boys.
Hugs, Neet xx
