For those of you who noticed, last week my internet was down from Saturday through Tuesday evening. They finally fixed the network line and so far I have been able to stay online. It took me through part of Wednesday to visit everyone up to that point, but I was able to see all your lovely murals last week.
It's now time to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals. Although I'm posting at my regular time, please be aware that Sami's mural link won't go live until 11:01 a.m. my time.
I went looking for this mural.
It was not where I thought it was, so when I turned the corner and found it, I was really surprised. 
The name of the mural is "The Women Who Mold Us," 
and it was painted by Heather D. Byers.
According to her site, she is an artist 
and a North High School (Wichita, Kansas) graduate.
This is how Byers describes this mural:For this mural, I’ve poured through photos of the women in my family, specifically those with ties to the NorthEnd neighborhood. The top left image is a sketch based on a photo that was taken 75 years ago on N. Market with my great-grandmother and grandmother (infant). There are sisters and cousins, women who grew up in this neighborhood and have spent time together telling me stories of younger days. Among the photos are a cousin of mine who danced at Evergreen Community Center for Dia De Los Muertos 15-20 years ago, a few North High grads including one who only this year got to sign the tower with the seniors over 30 years after her graduation because she wasn’t allowed as a pregnant teenager, a great grandmother who started breakfast services for the neighborhood at the First Mexican Baptist Church, and memories of childhood and teenage years.Byers is on these sites, although I am not:

All the glasses. When Hubby was a boy the classroom-door flew open and a kid screamed "there he is, four-eyed-guy!!!"
I was already 14 when I got my glasses and they were so strong I must´ve roamed around "blind" and now... my youngest Niece got her glasses at age 3!
Maybe not the intention the artist had, but... those thoughts hit me.

This mural makes me feel pride in the women in my family. I can identify with the women in the mural. Their stories, quiet accomplishments, and their strength. It makes me feel proud to be a link in the chain of the women in my family.

As you know, I rarely leave my apartment but I have no doubts that you find more murals down there than I would ever see here--ever. They are all interesting and so colorful. :)
oh that is a great mural, yes there are many women who mold us. I come from a line of many strong females in my family, many of them were in the suffrage movement.
This mural is so full of life!
