Hearts and Flowers

Today you've caught me in my craft room

where I spritzed

my handmade shimmering mists on 110 lb card stock.

When dry, I created this spread I call "Hearts and Flowers."  This spread is intended for my Hearts theme at Art Journal Journey.  It's also intended for Try it on Tuesday where their theme is Share the Love.

Who wouldn't love some flowers this month.

These flowers

go so well with the heart.

They also go well with the lace, too.

For this page, I started with my misted background and cut a heart from a cracker box.  The box already had a crease from the fold, so I turned it inside out and glued both outsides together, leaving the brown interior showing.  I used PVA glue to hold the sides together.  Once the heart was dry (it took over a day to dry) I covered it with a deconstructed lace curtain.  For this I used fabric glue.  I further deconstructed the tiny silk flowers from a bouquet and added three leaves to hide the tiny stems.  I used E6000 on the flowers and leaves.  Finally, I added the computer generated words using a glue stick.

Thank you so very much for visiting today.  I am so glad you stopped by.  I hope you also join Bleubeard and me at Art Journal Journey with your own interpretation of Hearts and Try it on Tuesday with their Share the Love theme.

"spritzed"?! That is German :-) Reckon you pronounce it with an "s"? We do like in "school", "schpritzed", just as a side-note, LOL.

Oh, yes, I would love some flowers, too!
A cracker box! I learn so much here!
Beautiful, though it looked better when still wet!

Lovely page, the colours are fab. I have a patch like that on the white wallpaper in my kitchen, but I didn't do it on purpose! Nice idea with the lace curtain, too. Have a fun day, Valerie

The lace is *very* pretty, it adds that romantic touch. You’ve given me some ideas about where to look for ephemera. I always love shimmer and sparkle!

I have obviously missed something here so will have to go and find your recipe for the glimmer mists. Not that I need any more sprays but to make your own is something I haven't tried so it is about time I did. maybe I can jazz up one of my existing ones with your ideas.
Who can have lace and no flowers - they so go together as you have shown and what better way to prep us for Valentine Day.
Hugs and Tickles to you know who

I love the texture of that half heart. It looks so cool on that beautiful splattered background. And hearts and flowers are rather romantic with Valentine's Day coming up so soon.
Thanks for linking up to TIOT with this. It is perfect for the latest challenge there as well as your own challenge. Those background splatters look fantastic. Hope it was a good Wednesday. Hugs-Erika
