Light up the night

Today I'm joining Erika, you may know as Bio Art Gal, our host this month at Art Journal Journey

with her themes In the air/In the sky.

"Light up

the night."
Notice the sun setting in the background.

I apologize that this photo isn't in focus.  It was the best I could get.

I've seen night skies that look like this over the flat lands of rural Kansas, too.

For this entry, I began with a page I found in an old calendar.  I sewed the computer generated words to the page, then, thinking it needed something further, added the row of sequins that I hoped followed the coastline.

Thanks beyond belief for joining me today and I also hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your interpretation of Erika's theme.

Wonderful page, there's nothing so beautiful as the night sky. The sequins are a great touch. Have a fun day, Valerie

There's an amazing sight to see at night up above us sadly in the UK the light pollution spoils a lot of it and it is only when visiting out of city or abroad that you can see just how magnificent it is. Fabulous piece for Erika's AJJ theme.

That is a gorgeous sky. I love how you used this photo and made it even better with the blue fabric trim along the bottom. I really thought it was water in the photo for a minute. That was smart to add that. I have seen quite a few starry skies but usually it is not quite that dramatic. We don't have a lot of night light here if you shut off the house lights but we have all the trees that block lots of the sky views. This is a super entry to AJJ this month and I send a big thank you! Your support is much appreciated. Hugs-Erika

This is beautiful Elizabeth. I love night sky scenes and yours is fantastic. Great idea to use a lighthouse.

Seeing the night sky away from city lights is amazing. I saw the sky like that on our honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas. Lighthouses are so cool. My fantasy studio is on an island in a lighthouse. Hope the storms have moved away from you area.

I LOVE 'Light up the night.' We have too many trees in our neck of the woods (No pun intended. Ha.) to see skies like that.

Wow Elizabeth! This is the perfect calendar page and the words you used look wonderful with your sewing!
I'm still waiting for the meds to kick in - we were due to go the caravan today but I couldn't cope with the idea of being jolted in the car! Hugs, Chrisx

There's something so very special about lighthouses, don't you think? Not sure it's needed in this photo, with all those beautiful stars - wow! I don't get to see stars like that, though I do get to see some occasionally, lol. My friend in France lives in a very open area and when there, we sit out in the garden at night and watch the stars. If I'm there at the right time, we watch the shooting stars, too and count them. My family in NZ say the night stars there are wonderful. We so take them for granted.

This is so fitting for the category, Elizabeth. And of course, I am a sucker for lighthouses! Nice! Happy weekend!

Wow, that's a stunning image. There's so much light pollution where I live that you're lucky to catch a glimpse of just a few stars even on a clear night. Another reason for my proposed move to the country in another country! Love this page - stars, sea and lighthouse combined... it's magical.

That's a beautiful night sky scene, Elizabeth. It's perfect for Erika's theme. The close-ups are great; I wouldn't have noticed the setting sun if you hadn't pointed it out. Eileen xx

An amazing night sky Elizabeth one you could gaze at for hours and watch the stars twinkling. The sun setting in the background looks like it is saying goodnight to everyone.
