T Stands For More Receipts

I had my T Tuesday post nearly finished today, when I realized I may not be here either day this week.  I'll try to sneak home, but that may be a problem.  For those of you who don't know, I'm nursing a sick cat while my neighbor and friend Sally is on vacation.  This morning when I gave her an IV dosage, she didn't get up.  She even allowed me to hold and stroke her, something she hasn't done before.  I was worried and decided to stay a bit.  She still didn't respond.  I finally broke down and did the only thing I knew to do and called Sally.  Luckily she was back in the U.S. and answered her cell phone.  She immediately called her vet and the vet called me.  She (the vet) said to keep Lovey warm and covered.  Her sister, Lilly should not be in the room with her, and I should try to feed her by hand or through a dropper.   When I called Sally back, she said she would get home as quickly as possible, but it might take a couple of days to change her reservations.  I'm off to finish this post and head back to Sally's where I will be staying for the most part, until she returns.  I will return home to feed the boys, but that's about all.  I will try to check in, but won't have time to read your posts or leave caring comments.  However, I will be back late Tuesday night when the cats are asleep, so I can post something for my day 17 recycle entry.

Last week I promised to remove the cover of this beautiful box

which was sent to me by my dear friend RO!  If you've never been to her site, then you are NOT in the know and you are missing out on lots of useless useFUL information, including lots of trivia.  If you have a serious side, and are a person who believes that bullying, verbal and physical abuse, gender abuse, and age related abuse should never be tolerated, you should read some of her stories that cover this subject.  To make her even MORE special, she is a retired member of the military. She not only talks the talk, she walks the walk.  I encourage you to head to her blog and start following her.

Beautifully packaged and wonderfully wrapped,

my only disappointment was there was no mention of who sent this gorgeous gift.

Of course, I knew (intuitively) immediately who sent it, because it was something only RO would send.  It took me forever to get it unwrapped because I didn't want to tear the tissue paper or the seal.

Isn't it gorgeous?

What an absolute beauty.  I've held it and stroked it, and admired it, but only after seeing these photos did I notice the crystals on the rocker part of the horse.

Until Easter and my bEARTHday is over, it will live on my dining room table.

I'm quite certain the Easter Bunny is happy to admire it, too.  There are not enough words to describe how very, very happy, impressed, and a bit overwhelmed I feel.  Right now, all I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear RO.  You have no idea how special this makes me feel.

I admit, I already had my T Tuesday post complete when this beauty came.  Look at those postage stamps.

Yes, it's from my friend Mia, who is also a gem.  I can't believe she sent me another wonderful gift.  Look at that handmade paper.  It puts mine to shame!

This is rice paper, and even though I don't have the much needed materials to complete this Klimt work, I love it and will find a use for it.

The same goes for this incredible dancer.  I am super impressed with this and how textural it looks.  Mia, I cannot thank you enough for these gifts.  Thank you, thank you, dear.

It's time to take a break.  Let's turn to the art today.   These were more receipts I have kept, some for over two years.   After I glued the receipts to 110 lb card stock, I did a direct to paper technique using  a multicolored dye ink pad.

It should be no surprise I'm once again joining Wendy from Wendy's Art and Craft Journal who is our host at Art Journal Journey this month.  Her theme is Having Fun and this was fun, especially when I found and was able to use all the recyclables.

The card had been a "thank you" note for hosting a swap.  We all know I haven't done that in years.  I added the black to the back

then added a gifted dragonfly.

To cover the "thank you," I found a tag and stamped (SHOCK, yes I stamped) the word "Freedom."

Then I sewed all around the page and the card.

There is the empty cup I was planning to share.

That is until I opened Mia's lovely gift and found herbal Greek saffron tea which I can use to join in the fun today.

I admit this is a very, very special T day.

For Day 16 of 22, I recycled six receipts and the front of an old card I received to thank me for hosting a swap.  I added the black construction paper, and the white card stock I used as a substrate, the tag I stamped, along with the variegated thread, which were new.  Thank you for joining me today on my recycling quest and thanks again to RO and Mia for their incredible gifts.

By now you know it's time for you to share your own drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, junk mail, ads, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

Please be aware, I'll be by to visit you soon, especially if you are a T Tuesday participant or an Art Journal Journey participant.

That rocking horse is gorgeous! And the hand-made paper is so lovely. I confess I've looked at kits to make small-sized papers... They look so beautiful :)

I hope all goes well with Lovey.

I can just imagine the stress you both must be going through over Lovey's health, and thank goodness you are there to fill in until Sally comes home. You are just such a great friend. Mia's gifts are wonderful, and it truly amazes me that there are such lovely things that can be done with paper that I've taken for granted for so long. Really enjoy seeing all the fabulous and colorful art that you guys come up. Alas, I'm only able to put stickers in my Planner. So thrilled that you like your birthday gift, and glad it arrived safely. I also appreciate the shout out to visit my blog. You're the best! Hang in there! Hugs...RO

Im so sorry to hear about Lovey. You must be so worried. It is quite a responsability to look after someone else's dear kitty, and then for the cat to be ill! I hope Lovey pulls through. I feel sorry for Sally too, having to cut short her trip.
I too was hearing about the Notre Dame burning last night and I was so upset that I didn't do your comment straight away.
The rocking horse is gorgeous. what a lovely present! Mia has spoilt you too. The tea sounds really interesting.
Your till receipt page is awesome! I like it.
I hope the kitty saga has a happy ending,

Hi Elizabeth, Your new rocking horse is beautiful, so tiny and cute.
I hate some handmade paper the same as yours, I've had it for years and never used it, in fact I have quite a few pieces with leaves inside.
Keep up the good work with the recycling.
Happy T day
