Inspired by Whimsy

It's time once again to join Gill at Gibby Froggett Craftations, this month's host at Art Journal Journey.  Her theme is Inspired by . . .

and today I'm inspired by a bit of whimsy.

I found these mountains in a magazine, and wanted to use them in some way.  I have a thing for old cars, so when I saw them in another magazine, I fussy cut each one and adhered them using a glue stick.  My detail scissors are getting really dull, so a few of these teeny-tiny automobiles were hard to cut.

The one misstep was the computer generated words I colored using pink dye ink.  I picked up the wrong color, thinking I had gotten orange.  I didn't notice until it was too late.  However, I hope you found some whimsy in this entry I created in my large art journal.

Thank you beyond belief for joining me today.   I hope you will join me at Art Journal Journey, too.

Ah, Elizabeth - you have a great sense of humour - so much fun! I love the idea... I think the pink is a great colour to compliment the mountain colour, too. What a great photo! I can understand why you wanted to use it...it's really striking. I wouldn't want to climb it, though. I kept thinking it looked like a cake, dribbled with glacé icing, lol... what a fancy!

Have a lovely Sunday.

Hee hee.. I did laugh when I spotted those little cars Elizabeth, i'm sure there is a double meaning within your page and if I had not read that you love old cars I would have thought the other way with them all tumbling off the mountains. Fun journal page and those mountains really are amazing.
Happy Sunday Tracey xx
P.S Try cutting sand paper with your little scissors it may help sharpen them a little. xx

Fabulous fun page Elizabeth. I also thought the mountains was a cake at first too - that might be wishful thinking and wanting something sugary at present :)
Wondering where those mountains are as they look pretty awesome too.
Great cars - it made me think of the flying car in the Harry Potter films.. I did feel a bit sorry for your cars as it would have been bad enough trying to climb just rocks - but there's snow and ice here - poor things - hope they have some parachutes attached just in case.
Happy Sunday Elizabeth and thanks once again for your support for this theme :)

Fun. Reminds me of the bumper stickers that proclaim This car climbed Mt. Washington (in New Hampshire) or This car climbed Mount Katahdin (in Maine). Your cars actually did it! Enjoy your day!

This is a super fun idea you had for the mountains! Looks cool!
And wow you fussy cut all that tiny cars - kudos!
A fabulous entry and page for Gill's theme again ! You rock!
I had such problems with reaching your blog today - it didn't load for me and I tried it many times -
I even restarted my computer twice.
Hope and think this was just me and my internet connection -
as I had the same problem with another place I wanted to visit online.
Maybe just too much internet traffic!
And not that there is a problem with your blog - fingers crossed!
All other blogs strangely enough worked like always for me.....

Happy Sunday my dear Co.- Admin!
Hugs, Susi

Oh Elizabeth this looks fun. I love the idea of a car getting to the top of the mountain, it would take all the stress and strain from actual climbing.
The fussy cut cars must have taken you ages to cut out. Its a fantastic page.

This is a really fun page. I love the cars on the mountains - that’s about as close as I’d get to mountain climbing! I thought your colour choice was on purpose - I often use pink and orange together.

Love your Marilyn page too!

Brice Canyon, I bet. Boy, I would be falling like those cars there! Rick actually hiked it. I read a book in the car! Which was not tumbling down.
