T Stands For Chinese Buffet

I'm trying to keep it short and sweet this week, after the very long post last T Tuesday.  Several weeks ago, when it was bitterly cold and the wind was whipping up and down the plain, my foodie friend Sally and I were out west on a mission, when she saw a sign for a Chinese Buffet.  She wanted to stop and eat there because she had heard it was good.

This was about the time I started not feeling well, and my photos show it.  I didn't even get the name of the restaurant, which makes me feel bad, because it is a place we had never been before.  Apparently all I got was the vestibule and the doors where you enter the restaurant.

This was about all I ate.  That is tofu soup and I love it.  Please note, you can't even see my drink which was water and lemon, although if you look closely, you can see Sally's water in the blue glass in the back upper right of the photo, along with the straw for her water.   Please don't ask why I had so many used napkins sitting on the table, but just chalk it up to my being sick.  I also ate a bowl of pistachio and chocolate ice cream, so it wasn't a total waste of my $7.00 cost of the buffet.

As we were leaving, I took a couple photos of the fish pond.

If you can't see the water glass on the table, you can see the fish were drinking water which was being filtered and bubbled by this fountain.   I may be grasping at straws on this one, but we have to chalk it up to the slightly ill host not checking her photos before putting the camera away.

Now it's your turn to share a drink related post.  Your post might include photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, teapots, tea cups, coffee mugs, drink glasses, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, teabag art, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink, even the fishy kind.  Please share your direct link below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.

That is such a shame to be feeling ill when visiting a new restaurant, maybe there will be a next time when you will be able to enjoy a meal out there.
The tofu soup looked good and did have a lovely clear broth.
Happy T day wishes Elizabeth.

Yes, I remember you saying you had been ill. Poor you. There's nothing worse than feeling ill and having to eat out. Perhap you can visit the restaurant again when you are going in that direction.
Happy T-Day,

You certainly didn't get your money's worth at that buffet, Elizabeth. But this post made me smile because of one my first T-parties - where I stretched the rules a bit with my drink reference to "in the drink." I was referring to the fish in Lake Chapala and a piece of postcard art with a koi. It raised some T-lady eyebrows.

I hope you're all better now and have a happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

Too bad you didn't feel like eating much. It looks like a nice restaurant, and I especially like the little pond with the goldfish. How fun! Well other than the ice cream you had a nice healthy lunch since Chinese food isn't know to be low calorie. :) Happy T day. Hope it's a good one my friend. Hugs-Erika

It stinks to feel ill. I love Chinese food but I don't know if I could eat it when I feel sick. The pond is beautiful and pistachio ice cream sounds yummy. Hope you feel better soon!

elizabeth, in your comment on my blog (thank you so much ♥) you wrote about rbbb... the stamps i have are old - mostly 20 years or so - but a great part of the rbbb images is still continued at the "stamp francisco" company.

Hi Elizabeth, hope you have recovered by now. Seven dollars for a Chinese buffet is quite cheap (for Australian standards anyway).

Oh to have to go to a restaurant when you don't feel well.... sometimes just the food smell can make you feel worse! Isn't it funny how the fountains and ponds at almost all the chinese buffets are never well thought out.. How you can still see the bricks the fountains sit on and the water lines.. A bit of camouflaging would go a long way... Ours here is the same way.. Just a little more effort would make it nice.. Well i hope you are feeling better Ms. Elizabeth and i thank you for your nice comment on my post this week. Happy T day! Hugs! deb

Hope you are on the mend. Being unwell in winter seems worse somehow, as you are stuck in the house most of the time anyway, it's the double whammy for me. I will be sending some healing wishes on the wind. xox
