Butterflies believe in forever
It's once again time to join Rosie at Rosie's Kleine Bastelwelt this month's host at Art Journal Journey with the theme she has chosen, which is Spring.
Once again, I'm placing
the butterfly center stage in my altered book.
A quote by Carl Sagan says it all: "We are like butterflies who flutter for a day and think it is forever."
My friend Kathy gave me this scrapbook paper that looked like rocks. I found a butterfly in a book and fussy cut it. Before placing it on the rocks using glue dots, I added antennae using black thread. The quote was computer generated and colored using my watercolor crayons. This was created in my Challenges altered book.
Once again, I appreciate your visit. Thank you beyond belief for your continued support of my art. You will find me today at Art Journal Journey. Hope to see you there, too.

Wonderful page, the butterfly is beautiful. Have a nice day, Valerie
WOW absolutely beautiful, loving the 'rocks' and they are so realistic. I must admit I have never heard of 'earth hour' in your post below but it is interesting..xx💖 [Aussie aNNie's Blog]
Fabulous page! Love that butterfly and that quote is one of my favourites. Still too cold here for me to think it is Spring - I'm ever hopeful but snow is forecast for some parts of the country this week!
Beautiful page! The rock background with the brilliant blue butterfly is stunning and I love the way you created the antennae with black thread - perfect 😁. The quote is wonderful too! Wishing you a Happy Weekend! J 😊 x
Wow you did a great job with that butterfly. I thought it was part of the image. I don't think I could have cut it out even close to that well. It looks fantastic and this page is stunning. I like the quote also. How true how true. Carl Sagan was a cool person and too bad we all lost him so young. Hope you have a great Sunday. Hugs-Erika
The rocks scrapbook paper is beautiful and the butterfly really stands out against it.
Have a great Sunday Elizabeth.
Reading your Earth Hour post, I just saw the news on TV today that it had been yesterday...didn't watch tv yesterday, so totally forgot and didn't do my bit.
Nice combination- the beautiful blue is great against the soft gray and texture of the rocks.
This scrapbookpaper is just AMAZING and the blue butterfly fits so well and you even gave him antennae with thread - that's unique ! A wonderful entry linked to Rosie's theme and such a true quote by Sagan!
Happy Sunday my friend!
We had sun till now... amazing .. even though it is still very cold!

The blue butterfly looks so striking against the scrapbook paper, and that quote is so perfect.
Lovely page! The butterfly really pops against the grey paper. The quote is perfect.
This is a stunning butterfly, I love the blue colour, they must be amazing to see up close in real life. You created a super background as well for this fabulous page.
Yvonne xx
Those colors on the butterfly are so vivid. I can see matching an outfit with those colors. Looking at butterflies outside is so peaceful and relaxing, and their colors are always so neat to look at. Hugs...and Happy Sunday! Are you feeling better?
A striking page Elizabeth! I love the rocky background you chose for that beautiful butterfly.
Have a lovely day,
Alison xx
What a striking quote, and I appreciate it even more in the setting you made. Fully living my "now" is what I need to do more of. Thx! :)
This really is so beautiful Elizabeth! I wish I could see a butterfly like that IRL! Chrisx
I love that quote and those blue butterflies remind me of my friend Diana. The last time I saw her before she died, we went to a butterfly garden and the blue ones were especially magnificent. And I keep meaning to say this in certain other posts but hats off to you for excellent fussy cutting -- it can be hard and take a long time and you do it so well.
Wonderful page
Thank you for joining us at ART JOURNAL JOURNEY
