T Stands For Jimmy's Egg

The day I took my friend Sally to have her foot operated on

I took my camera and got a bit carried away.

One of the things I noticed was there were no clocks in the waiting room.  Not a good sign for someone who didn't bring a watch or has a cell phone.  Needless to say, we were the very first people there.

My dear friend Valerie takes photos looking INTO shops, but I took these looking OUT to the parking lot.  Yes, that's my camera and arm you see.  It's also my mug of coffee with half and half that I can always use as my drink for T.

These were almost surreal.  What got me was the double panes in the glass caused everything inside to photograph double, but not so outside.

Next it was time to settle in for a long wait.  About noon, I was ready to drive Sally home.  However, she had a different idea.

She was famished and wanted something to eat.  After all, she hadn't been allowed to eat anything for 12 hours before her procedure.   She instructed me where to go, and I knew I was in hog heaven when I saw the cars in the parking lot.

It appeared there must have been a meeting of a classic car group.

I'd love to own an old car that a lay person can actually work on if something went wrong.  No fancy electronics, etc to get in the way of the mechanics.  But I digress!

By now it was time to enter Jimmy's Egg.

It wasn't exactly in MY neighborhood.

I bet they sell a lot of those mugs, too.   I have to admit, the server was fabulous and knew his business, too.

No matter how many times I took photos of this page, the overhead lights obliterated something.

Eileen had Eggs Benedict a couple of weeks ago, and it made me hungry for them.   Of course, I had to take the plunge.

I was entitled to one side and chose the seasoned home fries.  I told several people that same week you couldn't pay me enough to eat grits, yet there they were on that menu.

Sally ordered the Griddle Combo with pancakes, one egg, and bacon.

As we waited for our meal, several tables cleared out and I felt comfortable taking a photo of Sally.

When our food arrived, I took a photo of both our plates.

I have no idea what happened to my water, but the table was so small, it was impossible to leave anything on it except the food and drinks.  In fact, it was barely wider than Sally.

As for my Eggs Benedict?  That was a CHEESY Hollandaise sauce.  It was really disappointing, but I enjoyed the eggs which were poached to perfection, and the English muffin.

Now it's your turn to share a drink related post.  You might even inspire a meal I have the next time I am out and about.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, teabags, teapots, cups and saucers, mugs, scrapbooking, or any other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink. Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time.

Those photos taken from inside out through the double glass windows are fun, great idea. Glad you stuck with Sally. The place you went to for lunch looks great, and what a plethora of gorgeous, vintage cars. Cheesy Hollandaise sauce? That'a new to me! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

That was an amazing effect looking at the photos you took through the window, for me it looked like an atmospheric, misty morning when you don't know what you might see coming towards you.
The room did look bare, I imagine it filled up as the morning went by.
I think both of you would have been hungry by lunch time. The food you chose for sure looked tasty, shame the sauce wasn't good.
Happy T day wishes Elizabeth.

Glad that Sally was ok after her operation and that's such a great place to eat 😁. Your meals look delicious and I'm so hungry after seeing the menu choices, make mine an order of Biscuit Debris (hold the cheese) and also an order of those yummy cinnamon roll mini-stack pancakes - well I did say I was hungry ...lol 😉. The vintage cars are so amazing too! Happy T Day! J 😊

Sally is smiling and seems absolutely fine after her procedure. It's so good to see her smiling!
What a lovely surprie to see those old cars! I would have loved to see them.
The breakfast looks lovely (apart from the cheesy sauce).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Sally's procedure must have gone extremely well, if she wanted food afterwards. I love places where you can get breakfast any time the restaurant is open. That is one cool car you photographed. I love the happy egg logo.I'd buy a mug if the egg was on it. Lots of choices on the menu would make it hard to choose. Pay me, and I'll eat grits! Happy T Day!

Well, I am back again! I am having so much fun with the T Gang! How fun that Sally wanted to go out to eat after her procedure. Those were pretty photos through the glass, a nice technique. Happy T day!

what a great viewpoint of the office inside and out during Sally's appt. Hmmm...no clocks...does that mean they are so prompt?
Glad the procedure went so well that you could both enjoy a nice meal afterwards. I was wondering about the hollandaise which def. looked like melted cheese to me. I know sometimes one doesn't care during a splurge but I do like seeing caloric content as it is often surprising!
Happy T day!

This place looks just right for some comfort food following Sally's op! Please do tell what are buttermilk biscuits and I have forgotten what grits are too? The classic cars are worth looking at and I loved your double reflection photos! Chrisx

Cool photos and love the vintage cars you got to see. That would be a big plus for me too. The menu does look very good and your food looked good too. I like the shape of their coffee mugs. :)

you took some fun photos through the glass at the hospital. That always bugs me that hospitals and doctors offices have no clocks-I don't have a smart phone either but last year I broke down and bought a watch-now I need to remember to wear it haha
the restaurant food sounded good-but cheesy sauce is not hollandaise so that was a bummer. Sally looks good coming out of an operation.
Loved seeing the vintage cars too.
Happy T Day Kathy

Fun photos...quite artsy. Sally looks chipper for just having surgery...or was that the drugs. ;)

the eggs look yummy...and the classic cars are an unexpected treat! beautiful... not a huge corvette fan, but that fifties (?) car is awesome! hope Sally's recovery from surgery is rapid and fairly painless. An 'eggsciting' restaurant visit, lol! wink wink.

Since it is a little after 6 in the morning and it's cold, I could really go for a big warm breakfast like that. Cheesy sauce or not. Breakfast is the best meal of the day I think. Sorry your sauce wasn't exactly right. But you did get to see those cars. That is cool. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

Hope Sally is doing well after her operation.
I love eggs benedict too, I can't make them, but only if we go out for breakfast once in a blue moon, do I eat them.
Love those old cars, they are so beautiful.

Oh, those cars! So glad you got photos of them. I enjoy seeing vintage cars as well as Corvettes. And I like breakfast out, so enjoyed seeing this place. Must admit that I simply do not understand chicken and waffles. I noticed it on the menu. While I haven't tried it, it just sounds so unappealing. Seems to be a big hit in this area, too, though. I do like grits, though I order them rather than making them at home. Hope Sally heals up quickly.

I can hardly believe the big smile on Sally's face right after surgery! Maybe the anesthetic was still in effect. I hope she's out of the boot by now.

Eggs Benedict are my go-to Sunday brunch meal. It's a culinary crime to put cheese in Hollandaise sauce!

Thank you for your comment on my post, Elizabeth. Just to clarify, you can (and I do) create a lot of your own Silhouette designs. I also get a lot of freebies. But sometimes I just to have to have one of the more elaborate designs created by professional designers like Lori Whitlock or Snapdragon Snippets. At less than a dollar, I thought the sweet rack card design was a bargain. Since the design has 25 pieces, I imagine a die cut set for such a card would cost about $30! Gamsol is odorless mineral spirits - definitely not something you want to drink - lol.

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

I've noticed that clock thing in lots of places. Hospital waiting rooms, to be sure. Also airports -- few and far between -- and movie theatre lobbies, among others. It's very annoying if you don't carry a phone regularly or use a watch. Like me.

I'm glad Sally's surgery went well. She looks happy :)

Those pancakes! Yes, I want those pancakes :) The cars look like fun. I remember when cars started being too electronic for home mechanics to fix. That was a sad day.

Elizabeth, when you posted that menu and showed that burger, I could feel your mind speaking directly to me, and I loved it. (lol) I'm sorry Sally had to have her foot operated on, but I'm so happy she had a good friend like you there to offer support. I adore looking at older cars, and like you sure wish I had a couple sitting around, particularly a pink or red version. Old cars look so elegant, and is one of the reasons I like to watch old movies from the 40's and 50's. Happy Tuesday and Huge Hugs...RO

How wonderful that Sally is out and about! Those potato fries look so yummy. And that is one tiny table. Definitely, not made with ones comfort in mind. Your food posts are always so tempting.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

A good hollandaise is magical, too bad these folks didn't make one. Potatoes look good though. Hope Sally mends well. Nice surreal photos. No clocks in the waiting room, that's more annoying than looking at one and realizing how long you've been sitting there. xox

I hope your friend is recovering well. Those cars in the parking lot had me drooling as well, but I'm glad that I don't have to pay for the gas on those old guzzlers LOL! But they do look fab, and take you to a real technicolor time. Eggs Benedict - mmmmm, now *I'm* hungry!
