Our Next Adventure (and a look into my Jan. calendar)

Wednesday wonders is on hiatus while I bring you one final entry I created for Erika's theme New Year, New Adventures at Art Journal Journey.   Erika has been a fantastic host this month, and many, many of us have loved her chosen theme.

As this month draws to a close,

we are off to

our next adventure.

This time we'll be flying high.

I created this spread in my Challenges altered book.  I laid down two colors of blue water soluble crayons (still love them, Cindy).  While the page was drying, I fussy cut the airplane image I found in a book, then colored it using silver and lavender metallic crayons.  I added red metallic gel pen to the tail and one of the windows, and used it to write the sentiment, too.  Because I was afraid I might mess up when I wrote the words, I colored, then cut printer/copier paper in case I made a mistake.

Since it's the last day of the month, I wanted to share my continuing monthly calendar with you.

Here is my January calendar complete.  I actually gave Sally her gift yesterday, so I was able to fill the page completely.  It's a puny calendar, but it fits my purposes and I can look back on years past to see how well or how badly a certain month went.  You may enlarge to read the minutia of my very boring life.

February is ready to write in, but undecorated, which I will do after I see what the month holds.

Speaking of calendars, Seth Apter just posted the ARTifacts calendars that I, along with many others, participated in.  Please check them out on his blog.   The second link goes directly to the ARTifacts wrap up post.  My wrap up post can be found here.

I am simply thrilled you joined me today.    Thank you beyond belief for your continued support of my art and my puny calendar.  You will find me today at Art Journal JourneyHope to see you there, too.

Wow! Your calendar shows how busy you always are Elizabeth! I love that plane, and feel like I need to be on it right now to take a trip to someplace new along with some good books and cheeseburgers. Hard to believe the month is almost over! Hugs...RO

I love how you did the blue with the sky. Those crayons really blend well, don't they? It's a fun page for adventure.

And that calendar! Honestly, I don't know how you do it but here's to you!

Your pages the past two days have really hit home with my. My airplane adventure will happen on Friday as I leave The Eldest and fly back home. Hopefully, the skies will be blue instead of filled with snowflakes. Snow is predicted for tonight into tomorrow and maybe on Friday. I am so sick of the snow.

Beautiful blue skies as a background for the airplane. I love how you added silver to the plane that's is just how they look against the sky on a sunny day. I know I am no fan of flying but I can appreciate how they look in our skies.
A super full calendar, The cup and saucer you add for Tuesdays is sweet.

Love the page you made for your final new year, new adventure series. I always enjoy seeing your calendars. It was great to see your work on Seth’s page - I like that he featured the one piece you picked and the mosaic of all the pieces.

I like your calendar, Elizabeth. I'm still trying to figure out how to use mine. I feel I've been putting in too much detail; so your minimalist approach appeals to me. Fewer words would would give me more time (and journal space) to make art ;-) Thank you for sharing a peak into your interesting (to me) life.

Thank you also for your comment on my gel plate printing post. I'm curious about the bucket of water. Was that to drop the stencils in after use? I found myself using the same stencils over and over, so can't figure how that would work. Then I'd also need a drop cloth under the bucket - lol.
