I had 2 thoughts looking at these. One was that the military is such a big business, isn't it? Not for profit obviously. The other is that how scary and even a sad these photos are. That we live in a world where so much power is needed. Not that people have ever been peaceful but at least in far past history it was so much more small scale. Happy Wednesday. hugs-Erika
The photo of the soldiers sleeping with their dog is so poignant. Especially the soldier with his favorite team blanket.
There's never been peace, and I fear there never will be. There's too much money and power built into funding the military and building war machines. :(
Several thoughts came to mind as I looked at these descriptive pictures, Elizabeth. Those in the military go out to protect us day and night, yet most people have no idea what they do. I thought how peaceful they look, knowing at any time danger is just around the corner. I smiled as I saw that those in the military are just like us, and fans of football. Of course e love our pets, but they too, are on the front line. Like you and Miss Universe, I still hope that we all can be at peace, and live life joyfully despite our differences. Thank you for the reminders of those who work so hard to keep us safe. Hugs..RO

You chose an interesting topic and a wonderful set of moving photos. The snaps with the dogs and how weary the young soldiers seemed were heartbreaking.
I think we would all be wanting to see peace in our lives, we can only hope for that to happen, but deep down we know it is a wish that can never be granted.

my dad was very proud of serving in the Army during WWII. These pictures are beautiful and yet show how difficult their job is.

We often forget when we see fictional portrayal of wars that in real wars real people put themselves in so much danger….for what????? Sorry not to have been around - a combination of BPV and Christmas cards!!! Hugs, Chrisx
Yes, I would also love to see peace in my lifetime but that is looking less and less possible, very sad to say.
I too would love world peace, but sadly I very much doubt that will happen.
I think we've all been thinking about war lately. I vote for peace.
