T Stands For Small Business Tea (and Coffee)

Some of you will remember this photo I took of the large green T and the Spice Merchant sign I shared last week.

I wanted to visit the tea shop, since it used to be part of The Spice Merchant.

There were tons of photo ops here, but I only took one photo in the tea room because I suddenly had to visit the restroom, which was in the Spice Merchant.  Before I went to the Spice Merchant, I fought the huge crowds and paid for one of these red tea caddies.  I wanted a teapot, but they were a bit out of my price range.  My friend Sally had already gone to The Spice Merchant, so after I paid and used the facility, I looked for her.

The crowds were unbelievable.  People were everywhere, so it was impossible to stand in line to purchase coffee.   In fact, you had to get the coffee weighed and then you stood in another line to pay at the front of the store.  So I took a few shots of these new towels I hadn't seen before.

I really LOVE these towels.  Although they wouldn't fit in my kitchen, I love the sayings and the women from bygone eras.

I'm not sure why these were relegated to the far back of the store, but I found the one I wanted.  It's the one that reads:
Drink Coffee.  Do stupid things faster with more energy.
They matched the towels on the other side, but I didn't see this particular one, so was surprised when I ran into the mug.

In the background are some of the people buying coffee beans.  Some have it ground there, while others, like me, grind it at home each time they make a pot.  As I said, it was a madhouse.

As much as I liked the mug, I wasn't about to pay $13.00 (USD) for it.  After I found Sally, we both agreed to return on a day when it was not quite so crowded.  I see lots of ideas for Christmas gifts here, too.

Now it's your turn to share a drink related post.  It can be photos, a place you visited, teapots, teacups, mugs, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, teabags, scrapbooking, or any art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink. Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.  Obviously old photos are acceptable because they may be taken and shown any time.

I had the best of intentions for checking out some of my local small business Saturday sales, but I slept in later than I intended and ran out of time for shopping. But there is always next year. I did have a nice time at a birthday party on that Saturday, so it was still a good day for me.

You spotted some cool tea-related merchandise on your shopping adventure. How sweet is that typewriter teapot?! Happy T Day. 🙂☕️

I was really interested in seeing the tea towels, I do wonder if folk actually use them, or just keep them for show. They looked very retro in style as were those mugs you saw. I wouldn't have paid that much for a mug either, although it had a great word quote.
The red tea holder you queued to buy looked lovely.
I hope you get to revisit soon and get a good browse around the store.
Happy T day wishes.

What a shame that it was so ridiculously busy. I suppose a lot of people were buying their Christmas presents. I also love the teatowels with images from the fifties. The mugs are brilliant. I like the one about the hot flushes being a short private vacation in the tropics!

I apologise for the large photo plastered all over my blogpost. It appeared out of nowhere and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it.

Happy T-Day and a good week ahead,

Lisca

I just dont do the crowds.... But that shop looks wonderful. I'm a coffee mug collector as you know by now...lol But i have my limit what i will spend on one... I see some gorgeous ones for $20 + and i just can't see spending that much on a coffee mug ..no matter the skill that went into making it... That $12.99 is probably my limit... and thats only if i really , really REALLY had to have it...lol Happy T day Ms Elizabeth and Bleubeard! Hugs! deb

Looks like everyone had the same idea on small business Saturday. I can see why.It looks like an excellent tea/coffee shop. I like the towels and mugs too. But I especially love the teapots but I bet they are ridiculously expensive. I'm sure although usable they are more decorative anyhow. Glad you shared these photos from your day out. Hugs-Erika

$13 USD for a mug? I don't care what it says unless it brews the coffee too. However, I hope to see the funny phrase in a future page by you, Elizabeth ;-)

Happy T-day and thanks for hosting us once again. Hugs, Eileen

Wow! That is one expensive mug - but probably not many like it! I love mugs but have never paid that much (maybe 9 dollars for a special one). Good to see that so many folk were supporting 'Small Business Saturday!
Love those tea towels! Happy T day! Hugs, Chrisx

The tea caddy is cut, and the towels and mugs are fun. Loved the mug you chose. So stupid things faster and with more energy. :-D Maybe the mug will go on sale as it gets closer to Christmas?

It's a brilliant shop and it looks the perfect place to get some wonderful Christmas gifts too 😁. The little tea shop next door looks delightful too with those pretty teapots. Wishing you a Happy T Day! J 😊

I love the mug you found-mugs are getting pricey now adays aren't they? I paid over 20.00 for a handmade mug which I don't normally splurge and spend so much on one item-I still love it though. I do not like crowds anymore either-and would have left as well for another day to shop.
Oh I did a little post today but am not linking up-I have been busy all week but forgot to take photos lol I will be visiting though.
Happy T Day Kathy

I had another dr appointment this morning (annual gyn) so am getting a bit of a later start. Such crowds! It does look like a great place to pick up small gifts, but that does seem a bit steep for a mug. I'd have wanted to try some of the coffee.

I hate to admit it Elizabeth, but if we went there together, you may have lost me for sure. (lol) That's one of those places I can hang out in forever. Those teapots are truly creative. I drink more tea than coffee, but I still would have fallen in love with those cups too. I think they would sell so many more of them if the price were more reasonable, don't you? Those towels are nice too! Great post! Hugs...

Would love to visit the shop with you on a less crowded day. I like the retro towels a lot. I expect they are pricy too. Thanks for linking me today

Our internet is down again so I couldn't post this week.. :( Using my phone to read blogs but my pictures are on the computer... wish we had a different choice for service but it's the price we pay for country living. Looks like a great shop to visit and I'd probably buy a cup of two :)

I love all the vintage things you found at the shop but yes, $13 is a chunk of change even for a great mug.

Thanks for all your visits and comments. So glad your keyboard is back on track!
